@ACT-Crusader Piri was as a huge part of the RWC 2011 win, then he ate lots of pies and became ***king huge.

So a couple of good games at WC 2011 when he didn’t last long beyond that and wasn’t really in great form in 2010 gets you a decade nomination these days?

Reputation from beyond 10 years ago and a RWC win seems to get you nominated.

                    I protest!

Easy to forget how hard that 2011 tournament was to win. The 2010/2011 team, Weepu very much included, had to dig very deep indeed with Carter out and McCaw playing with a broken foot. They got the monkey off our backs and laid the foundation for the ABs' utter dominance of World Rugby over the next six years or so.

Yeah, Weepu's heroics against SA in 2010 and 2011 and most importantly Argentina in the 2011 RWC quarters get him a Team of the Decade nomination. Wish we had a had a cool head like his on the pitch for the 2019 Semi Final.

@sparky yeah 'keep calm Piri's on' - he injured himself in the final warm up. You can see it on the disk I have. Then he really struggled to kick, which took a bit of the shine of his tournament. However he was instumental to our wins outside of that playing a France style 9/10 hybrid
