    HURRICANES TEAM TO PLAY CHIEFS

    1. Xavier Numia
    2. Asafo Aumua
    3. Siale Lauaki
    4. Isaia Walker-Leawere
    5. Warner Dearns
    6. Devan Flanders
    7. Arese Poliko
    8. Brayden Iose
    9. Ere Enari
    10. Ruben Love
    11. Fehi Fineanganofo
    12. Jordie Barrett (c)
    13. Bailyn Sullivan
    14. Josh Moorby
    15. Callum Harkin

Reserves: Pouri Rakete-Stones, Jacob Devery, Tevita Mafileo, Hugo Plummer, Taine Roiri, Zach Taulapapa, Mosese Bason, Matolu Petaia, Jordi Viljoen, Brett Cameron, Josh Gray, Riley Higgins, Jone Rova, Josh Timu, Taniela Filimone, Raymond Tuputupu, Vernon Bason, Pasi Tosi, Cooper Flanders, Jai Tamati, Lucas Cashmore, Anaru Paenga-Morgan, Drew Wild

    Unavailable Due To injury

    Tyrel Lomax (thumb): 1-2 weeks
    Caleb Delany (calf): 4 weeks
    Tom Allen (leg/foot): 2 weeks
    Brad Shields (finger): 2 weeks
    Du’Plessis Kirifi (calf): 4-5 weeks
    Peter Lakai (calf): 1-2 weeks
Harry Godfrey (knee): Expected to miss season
    Kini Naholo (knee): 3-4 weeks

Do you see him staying at 12 or alternating between there and 15 this season ? Genuine contenders have emerged in the ABs in the midfield and fair to say Jordan has his critics in the 15 jersey. ( the most vocal of them will be asleep about now 😉 )

We will definitely see rotation. Jordie will play minutes at 12 and 15, Love will play minutes at 10 and 15, Higgins will play 12 and 13, Harkin will likely play 15 and some mins at 10, Sullivan will likely play 13 and wing. Plenty of versatility which is much needed at Super.

I hope they don’t select Enari ahead of Vijoen this year. Vijoen clearly offers more impact and has a much higher ceiling, about time we start playing him.

Didnt realise Dupes & Delaney were out for a month. Thats a dagger - suppose Lakai to 7 and Iose to 8 for those first 4 rounds. May see what Poliko has to offer from the bench

Lakai will definitely start the season at 7 if Kirifi isn't there. Cooper Flanders is probably more of a 7 than Poliko so he will probably get the bench spot as Lakai can move to 8 or even 6 if required.

The team seems to be more about giving the other returning players a start, or time off the bench. That is my preferred back three.

Suspect Xavier Roe will benefit a lot from the new 50:22 laws.

I'm not sure what the injury status of Norris is, but Kumeroa is definitely being used as a LH. Still surprised that he starts ahead of Proffit.

@Bones Definitely looks stronger without Carter.

                            Not sold.

Jordie Barrett’s handling and passing has been d grade so far.

                                    Enari is a hand brake.

@Tim if Foketi is injured I'd suspect so. With the outside backs being so stacked we could also see Narawa or Carter in 13.
