Game of 2 halves. You guys dominated the 1st, they dominated the 2nd.

Good comeback after the Canes looked good in the 1st half.
Maintaining possession was key. Not too many useless kicks is a big improvement from last season already.

Bloody good game for 1st one of the season.
Saders will only get better and have a lot of injuries.. Jordan just class.... can see some very silky connections with JOC in the future
Canes own worst enemies at times .. started well but I felt the backs let them down a bit.. particularly on defense -- Roigard started well but poor 2nd 40..... Larkai should start ahead of shields for mine
Officiating - was pretty good , consistent and largely accurate

I hope we don't see Sullivan in a Canes jersey again this year. He did it last year and he keeps doing the same shit. The guy is just uncoordinated and fks up far too often.
Higgins and Proctor coming back will change the Canes backline big time.

A lot of players in the saders stood up, Reece, Jordan, etc. Canes so weak in the midfield, that really cost is the game. Sullivan was an utter disaster and PUJ a nothing

Yeah I wouldn't worry too much if I were the Canes. That was a fairly strong Crusaders side out there tonight.
I think your side will look a lot different between now and the end of the season and remember, it's not how you start in this comp, it's how you finish.

Interestingly Lakai was the worst loose forward on the field from fantasy scoring perspective. Kirifi clearly the best.

The wind wasn't really an advantage outside of kicking.

Roigard's kicking was really poor. His clearance and decision making was slow, and he provided no leadership or structure in the 2nd half.
Not looking good for Hurricanes. Might miss playoffs.

Yeah not the best kicking game tonight but he'll be fine. Get a few players back and we'll be right. Showed how deadly we were, just made too many mistakes, especially in the midfield which killed off any opportunity for us to kill the game. Both Umaga-Jensen and Sullivan had shockers which didn't help our go forward which Roigard thrives off.

Of course the Canes will improve, for two sides with so many players out I thought the footy was bloody good tonight.
I thought when Walker-Leawere went off the Canes that was a bit of a turning point for the Canes. Plummer was definitely a drop down and we lost a few crucial lineouts because of it.
