I'm sorry, if you have watched that half and thought Beauden Barrett was legitimately an issue, then you've got serious unconscious bias
The delivery from Christie was abysmal, and the ill-discipline, particularly from a senior player like Tu'ungafasi was way below par.
Barrett didn't do much either way, though has looked positive in attempting to run the ball.

Christie is the worst element of the Blues. Just when they have some semblance of momentum, up steps the ginger midget to fuck it and place them under pressure again.
Speaks volumes about the Blues coaching group that they keep selecting him.

Canes just need to keep their discipline. Playing some good footy, just need to be a bit more patient. A couple of soft tries we let in, need to tighten up a bit.

Did you miss when he kicked the ball straight to Godfrey who returned it back with interest and put the ball out?

I was thinking in the same vein about Rieko. Multiple coaches with a gameplan for one of the quickest and slimmest guys in the team to be a battering ram - or he just absolutely fucks his lines? But the coaches keep selecting him...

In fairness to Cotter on Rieko Blues don't have many options at 13
Lam could play there I suppose and shift Plummer to 12?
Evans is tiny and error prone
Taele is tiny and has never played Super
Grindlay has barely been sighted in 2 years which makes me think he has not impressed off the field.

@KiwiMurph This is my point though. This is one minor error in a half where he played fairly well, and people are convinced he is the problem. As you yourself have said, Christie was SHOCKING.

I agree that Christie has been far worse in this game
My point is that Beauden is also a problem because it's what the Blues aren't getting out of the position
Compare Beauden to DMac today
He doesn't actively help the attack - he has no pace - he has a poor kicking game.
Now he isn't the only one - Rieko is adding entirely fuck all but as noted above not many options at 13.
