Didn't deserve it anyway, only kept in the game by two canes gimmes.

Agreed. He’s actually a bloody good player with ball in hand. Has been injured a lot and has the case of the dropsies but good potential

Landers created plenty of opportunities , some poor options, pushed passes etc.... cost them

How the fuck did they not get penalized for that head high, that was deadset coat hanger. Woeful from the ref, touchies and TMO. Unreal actually.
Good game overall. Well done to the canes. Need to retain ball a lot better. On to next week

Didn't the comms say the ref missed it so the TMO couldn't intervene? Back in the old days the touchie would have raised his flag

Not been impressed by Holland, very inaccurate and little impact.
His work rate is excellent but physically each individual moment is limited impact. He's like a gigantic Blackadder

I thought they looked devoid of solutions towards the end. No clear pattern of play. Slow ball from rucks to forwards standing still.
Didn't take the option to attempt a drop goal when they were in a better position, and like McAlister went for a hail mary miles out.

I find the lack of first phase strike play from the backline concerning for the highlanders. At lot of it was static and lacked go forward outside of the individual efforts of a few players. We don’t offer any uncertainty to opposition defense

The loss is what it is. It was a good tough game. We should have knocked that penalty into touch from Faleafaga. We should have knocked that penalty over from Gilbert. We should have got that penalty for the high tackle. We didn't.
We are a good team. That wa s tough game. Played at a high pace. Either team could have walked away with four points and the other with one.

That was a nerve racking game. I always thought the Highlanders were going to win, just used to the Canes losing lately I guess.
Highlight of the game for me was the Love - zoo interaction.
Not a lot of creativity in this game but disciplined defenses and a lot of turnover penalties.
I think the Canes season would have been over if we lost. So it’s good to keep the comp alive. -
