In their defence, when you are under stress and lots of inputs, hearing is the first thing that the brain turns off. It's why radio calls are missed in air combat

Is it worth it having the no hands in the ruck rule? Could be a way to simplify the ruck, as long as coming from the hindmost foot and staying on feet are enforced.
