Well played Chiefs on the Minor premiership. Hopefully Tupaea bounces back okay.

Last one I can remember is Jonny Grey for Exeter against Montpellier in 2021.

        Tough season for the clan
Not sure where they go to from here
They need to fix their detail i’m not sold on their 10s or their loose forward mix

They should've beaten the Crusaders last week and they were competitive with the Chiefs.

They're not getting badly out-muscled (at least not when they've got most of their best players available) so there's plenty to build on.

Need to be smarter - and as you say, get more little things right.

Solid shift. Wasn’t a stand out by any stretch but him and Withy were the better landers forwards tonight. Those 2 are about to get some much deserved rest

Well done chiefs, good luck for the finals.

Hope the landers can hold on to some of the squad and grow together.... Bit of potential in there, really need to work on #s to the break down and get more than 1 dimension to their attack.

Yep they are holding a lot of their squad, they will be ok I reckon.

Yup. Experience can not be underestimated and that is also what we lack. A lot of X-factor players being injured and missed a lot of time. It all adds up.

A kick converted here, a kick converted there, a line out going to hand instead of an overthrow. It’s all small margins but reality is that’s where the 2025 squad is at. I’m confident next year will be different. Not expecting miracles, but expecting to be competitive again every week and get some more rub of the green.

Great to see some emotion from EDG in that post match interview when asked about the season. Can see he really cares about the team.

Yeah it’s no coincidence his game has gone up to another level since he’s gained the Co-Captain arm band. He should be in that role without a doubt

Happy to get the win, and a tough game. My memory is that the Chiefs pack haven't always performed when the Taranaki front row has started. It was a Taranaki tight five.

Jeff Wilson obviously took his eye patch with him.

The ending to that game summed up our season really. In the matter of minutes, we butchered a certain try which would have had us receiving a kickoff to win the game, and then gifted one under our own posts to be soundly beaten - pretty much where we are in the competition.

On the bright side, the team is remarkably competitive and it doesn't take much more to fix the accuracy and have the ball bounce your way to change defeats to wins.

Apart from one botched kick when he slipped I thought that Roe was very good in this game. Obviously Ratima will start but Roe will be better for playing 80 mins.

I'm not certain Ratima will start to be honest. Roe continued his very good form managing the game whereas he always looks a bit scrappy off the pine. I'd be happy to see him given the starting jersey with Ratima coming off the bench, even if it means the better halfback gets less minutes.
