The crowds for the finals have been appalling. I don't know whether this is because the same teams have had home finals the last few years, but it has to be of concern.

I would say stats like Crusaders never having lost a home playoff game and Aus never having won a playoff game in NZ don't help with fan engagement.

Tom Wright has gotten so much better. Especially his positioning.

What's Tupou supposed to do there? He's not tackling, he gets the player knocked into him. Not foul play.

Nah. Just got to get lower or pull out of it if you think the other tackler has him.

That's not normal or expected though - if you're not lining up to make a tackle you don't just randomly drop down. It's not how it's supposed to be refereed.

You don’t think Vaa’i led in with his shoulder?

He absolutely braced - but you're allowed to brace if a player is colliding with you. You can hit someone high and it not be ruled foul play. As long as Tupou hasn't done anything dangerous or reckless then it isn't supposed to trigger the foul play protocol.

Excellent Garry Owen by DMac and chase.

Field position gives them try scoring opportunity and bang Narawa in.

Tupaea has been very good under attacking high balls this year - wouldn't have said it was one of his strengths previously but not sure if that was just an assumption...

Now if Sotutu gets penalised for rushing in then Tupaea should be penalised for the same offence

Really I hated it a few years ago when they took the biff out of the game. Great that it's back.

Tupaea didn't shoulder someone in the back though. Have to be more subtle about it.

What about the other two Brumbies that ran in first? Shouldn't matter if they're closer to the action.

Would be good to see Narawa play some tests this year.

He’s a certainty to make the squad.

Not sure about that. Razor dropped him pretty quickly last year despite doing nothing wrong. Not sure he's necessarily any better this year.

Thought it was Meredith on the bench for the Brumbies, not Debreczeni... Quite like Meredith.
