    'Tight confines'

So cowbells are banned because the ground is too much of a shithole?

No argument there thankfully last game of SR at the shithole.

Last finals game there at least, stadium isn't due to be finished til April?

Honestly I'm a bit of a traditionalist in the sense that I take my cowbells to Waikato NPC/FPC games only and I don't really like the crossover into Super but the Chiefs have leaned into it a bit in the last few years, but it doesn't mean other people can't do whatever they want with them. Mainsbridge is a weak gutted dog

I remember going to a Canes Chiefs game at Waikato Stadium years ago and they had a guy with a chainsaw in a cherry picker. Do they still do that?

That'd be possum, thought that was specifically a Waikato thing, unsure on that, only started going to games consistently from 2019.

Might have been a Lions Mooloos game. Classic though

The turf is the only thing that might hold it up but they are now on schedule for a March opening.

I don't think even the Bay has ever banned cowbells at the flash-as Tauranga Domain.

We might have threatened to melt cowbells down at Checkpoint Kaimai though...

Yeah, any Chiefs fan who tries to bring in a cowbell and not an actual cow, certainly is.

Yeah keep your cowbells to yourself you can clang away as much as you want on your home ground.

                          Sounds like fear to me

What that you might herd a bunch of cows in to the stadium Haha hardly.

Is there such a thing as a sheep bell?

                          Or so I herd.

For the sake of NZ rugby and the ABs, I hope the Chiefs beat the Crusaders well. I don't know what the fuss is about with Ethan. I watched him closely for passages of the game last weekend. He's almost always late to the breakdown, and when he gets there he flops onto the ruck and maybe gives it a push if at all. But I wouldn't say he seems to hit the rucks with any sort of ferocity. He's shit at carrying, doesn't have a passing game, and isn't really a dominant tackler (just ask Caleb). I must be missing something. But if I'm not, I hope he and the rest of the pack are exposed by the Chiefs

Fuss is probably the 31 tackles made, when 19 was the next best on either team.
13 carries for 51 metres isn't terrible either, better than all the other loosies except CLW, but not worth making a fuss over.

Maybe the numbers lie. The Saders loosies were quicker to the breakdown than the Blues loosies, but it generally wasn't EB there first second or third when I was paying special attention. I don't remember thinking the red pack having dominant physicality over the Blue pack. I'd like Mauss to watch the game again and record the tackle stats for the collective

What an effing tosser he is for doing that. Never have I seen anyone harmed by one. This act runs against the spirit of the competition. I can only hope it fires up the Chiefs and their fans, or that NZRU over-rules petty parochialism.

So you want the chiefs to win because otherwise some people might give Ethan Blackadder some credit?

I suppose you did watch him closely.

I'd like it to be on the Fern's record that I, contrary to how it may appear, do actually have a life.

Chiefs have to go in as favourites for me. Saders defending well but attack isnt special.
Chiefs backs took us apart in the second half last time and without the reduction in table place from a game that didnt really matter in reality were still the top of the table team.
31-0 means nothing, its history not the present. And the present is chiefs are a (slightly) better team/squad.
You have no idea how much I hate having to say that but we aren't back to 2023 std yet let alone better.
