@MajorRage all triathlon distances (here at least) ban personal music - no headphones even on the marathon on an Ironman

    Cos safety you know 🤷🏻‍♂️

I knew there was a reason I’d never done an Ironman

Completed the Selwyn Marathon today, my 41st marathon, in 3 hours 39 mins. Nothing amazing about my time and the course is quite a dreary one doing 2 laps around farmland in Lincoln, but it's still a marathon, and beats the usual training session on a Sunday haha.

Next stop, Helsingborg, Sweden. Will be at the end of my 7 week European holiday, so my time there won't be pretty, but it's always exciting doing an overseas marathon so I'm not complaining.

Haven't updated this thread in a while (forgot about it haha), but I completed my 47th marathon yesterday in Wellington. 3 hours 38 mins. About my standard time these days. Hope to get to 50 by the end of the year.

Haha I've read that, and trust me, there are some people in their 70s and 80s who still run marathons all year round that I see at most events who have done about 300+ haha. I've got a long way to go to get anywhere near them!

My other half did the half.

Which is half more than I would ever do.

Hats off to all you crazy buggers.

Not a bad effort at all. Only 48 more than me.

You should start a thread. I'd certainly contribute, if there's one thing I'm good at its not doing marathons.

I was going to get pissy and say start your on thread, but every notification gives me a reason to re read this thread and bring back the good times.

I injured my ankle so had 6 month out. Back in now, Althoigh I’ve got an extremely tight hammy so currently just on the rower. Joys of being old.

Awesome work @African-Monkey. You should be very proud of yourself.

@MajorRage gotta say. I was a bit confused when I saw this thread at the top of the Unread topic list, then I saw @African-Monkey ’s post 🤪

May as well make it a communal thread now!

Anyone had shockwave therapy before? Fucked my ankle and it didn't heal properly. A ton of scar tissue apparently. Would love to be back to jogging again. Would also like to avoid surgery.
