Naki scoring for fun in these conditions. Looks like first grade playing a schools XV.

"Humiliation, on their own patch, for Auckland..." ... from Taranaki, is not a phrase I ever expected to hear.

@Kirwan you have still got to marvel at the skill level of the visitors this is not a dry day and Auckland have still got several players with super experience not to mention they have had attack opportunity in the red zone
Make no mistake this has been a humbling on an epic scale
Not to worry though the Taniwha will play them back into form

Context is important, I gave them credit earlier in the thread.

Feel free to continue to overreact along with TJ.

This was as predictable as it gets

It's an already green Auckland team with multiple late changes on top of that against a proven NPC squad in woeful conditions.

You know Tito Harris is a talent when he still looks good on the end of that shitshow.

This is painful. Can't take out this many players against good teams like Taranaki

I guess this was the "credit"?

Yes. You guys are acting like you beat the full strength side.

We were disrupted late with illness (open question if others are sick, but well enough to play) and I'm supposed to scratch my chin and marvel at the awesomeness of Taranaki?

You did what a strong team is supposed to do when they smell blood and cash in.

It's hardly a humilation like TJ was wanking on about it. It was green team getting an introduction to NPC.

Meh, happy to see plenty of kids been given a go. I'd much rather this then come mid table with a pack of journeymen. Obviously the result means more to others and fair enough, but for me, development is important and if it takes a few hidings along the way against more experienced lineups, then so be it.

Fair 'nuff. From a 'Naki perspective - I grew up in an age when Auckland was pretty much unbeatable. Humbling them, regardless of the boring old "how many injuries does each team have" argument... feels pretty sweet.
    Same when we beat Canterbury.

Is that Auckland's heaviest ever loss in NPC?

ChatGPT sys it is - but, it also fed me some crap that I had to correct.

Nope, lost 57-10 to North Harbour in 2017

And trust me, that Auckland team on paper in 2017 was far stronger than this side.
