    Excellent finish

    Clutch from Millar.

Pleasing to see the team with 3 ring in ABs get bounced. Admittedly 3 players very lucky to be ABs.....

LJ well and truly out played CLW

Jacobson was the best forward on the park, followed by Tucker. He taught the Otago loose forward trio a bit of a lesson

Be nice to see LJ translate his form to the ABs ever..... or even get on the park for the ABs this year would be a start.......

Also Finau should never start in super rugby, let alone the ABs again. Was absolutely horrendous. Only managed a few cheap shots

LJ also got an opportunity to play in his best position tonight. For the Chiefs he gets forced to play openside because they have every 6/8 on the national radar. The guy should be playing 8.

Which again brings the question why he's in the ABs when he doesnt offer utility and isn't the starting 8.

plays 8 spends season at 7 for chiefs and started as a 6 who else do you want him to cover?

Starting at 6 for Chiefs means fuck all when he's not a 6 option at test level.

He hasn't played a single test minute this season

He has never done anything at test match level

But he just takes up a spot year after year......

Jacobson would do what everyone was hoping Kirifi would be able to do as an international 7.

Every involvement from Jacobsen was superb in that game but still the poor bugger gets a serious blow to the head. The guy is seriously unlucky. As far as injuries go hes in Blackadder territory.

    Care to be more specific?

I didn't see anything in that game to suggest he would be dropped from the ABs.

I dunno about that one mate. You can call me sour grapes if you want but I think if it were the other way around the Otago fans would be pretty salty.

The drop goal shouldn't have stood as the ball was touched before it went out, and the counter ruck after the break should have been a yellow.

If your idea of flowing is letting everything go then sure, but Otago defs got the rub of the green a few times, and when a game is that tight it's pretty hard to not be irritated

Every involvement might be pushing it when he got yellow carded and a resulting 2 Otago tries

@Yeetyaah One might suggest when Jacobson dragged that maul down it should have been a penalty try. Ditto, one could say Finau’s clean out was a shocker.

I think the best team won, but it was a cracker of a game. Can see how a Waikato fan would be frustrated, but as cliche as it is, rugby was the winner.

On entertainment, that was so much better than the snorefests the AB’s have had.

For sure I agree, they scored afterwards anyway so moot point almost, we're not going to agree here coz ultimately Otago won but again if the shoe were on the other foot Otago fans wouldn't be happy.

Waikato got better when Cruden went off. Maybe a lesson that a 100 year old first five ain’t the answer… if Moorby wasn’t injured, should have moved him to 15, Cook-Savage to 10.

Yes, I was surprised that Cook-Savage didn't go into first receiver. LCF could have moved back to fullback.

Obviously Waikato had major injuries at 1st 5 with the main three options missing all season. I doubt you could even name Otago's third and fourth-string 1st 5s..
