The French substitutes were below par. With 15 men on the field, SA should have won by +25 pr even more.

An impressive 2nd half by the Boks. France didn't know how to capitalise on a numerical advantage.

Does Gardner breath between lecturing the players?

It’s a thing with the two “top” Aussie refs, - him and Berry coach too much throughout the game. Berry doesn’t lecture like Gardner the school teacher, but he’s telling players far more than he should.

But a tucked arm isn't a red card. WR clarified this with the Beirne Decision.

You obviously didn't read the fine print when a player is wearing green. 😉

    wearing green

Good of the Frogs to try and help with getting the Boks back out of their white jerseys into green ones. (Think it was) Reinach looked like Shrek when he came off.

Boks can just find a way, can't they? It is impressive. Against us, they pulled out their power scrum, against France, they just went to their driving maul. Prod and probe until an opposition's weakness is exposed. Respect.

Last night test is up there with the Wellington one.

AE switching between forwards and backs is another Rassie master stroke . The Bulls fatties also were outstanding in the second half.

SFM again MOTM performance. He make things happen even from 15 and the main reason for the Springboks improvement since winning the WC.

Hard to get to sleep last night after this test.

As versatility and power-packed benches continue to define international rugby, could the sport become even more position-less in the future?

Depending on how long Ardie continues to play I think NZ need to get him or Sititi to cover 12 ( if its the latter pairing with Leicester Fainga’anuku then Tony Johnson will have kittens in the commentary box )

The possibilities are limitless. They could swap from scrum to scrum and lineout to lineout. Endless fun.

Just seen the red card...not sure what to think about that.

Obviously no HIA is an absolute joke, but no mitigation with Ramos on his knees? Sure the Saffa used no arms, but I reckon if the 9 is near full height that would not have even attracted a penalty.

Are we in for another to be rescinded?

@taniwharugby What exactly happened that it wasn't only a 20 minute card? Was it ruled to be sufficiently dangerous or especially foul play, or does France not have 20 minute reds?

@taniwharugby I still try to figure out what Lood was thinking? Ramos throw the ball to him and maybe he blinked his eyes at that moment.

@Tim I think even with a 20 min red, there is still the option of a straight red.

Lood def looked to have lined him up, but given how low Ramos was, that is a huge amount of mitigation not considered.

@taniwharugby From a replay it was clear that Gardiner ruled it as worthy of a full game red due to severity of the incident. Will be interesting to see how judiciary panel reviews it.

you do know Leicester was also tried in the forwards in Europe?
TBH , that isn't one of our glaring weaknesses that a part-timer with a serious hairdo can fix.
