So has Joe Schmidt actually done well with the Wallabies? What's the verdict?
Gotta love a simple bar chart

I’d say yes

Joe deserves credit, in part for stopping the madness of King Eddie II.
He also deserves credit for some improbable victories when our best talent was available.
The debit side is questionable selections including chop and change at 10. Some enforced, sure, but some not.
Ultimately he's not responsible for our skinny development pathway, and having to accept what it throws up

Wallabies first European Tour without a win since the 60's
First time they have lost 10 tests in a calendar year
Home World Cup in 2027
She’ll be right

Thing about Australia, they're kind of the slinky dog of international rugby. They can oscillate between great and not so great surprisingly quickly.

Absolutely
They’ll be in the mix in ‘27

Uncle Joe’s done well. This time last year they topped England and then went on to compete better than expected against the Lions. Beat the Boks in Joburg.
I know what @NTA is saying but they are a different team with Skelton on the field. Results show that.
Only since the Bledisloe have they fallen off a cliff. But they’ve had to put out club players at #10. Depth isn’t there but their loosies are great, solid front row - just need to settle on the playmakers and get everyone fit and available.

Wallabies not clinical enough. Two big try-scoring opportunities were wasted (Valetini dropping the ball and Tizzano with a stupid ruck clearing). Despite NTA's claims, I still think that the Wallabies depth or rather lack of depth is costing them dearly, especially up front. When Skelton is not there, their locks lack the required physicality at this level. They should look at Staniforth (Castres) who is a real enforcer, one of Top 14 best locks.
One
player
is
not
a
Test
team
Sure, but some of your players are not up to the task : you lack the necessary depth to find players who could be an upgrade. One player is not a test team but several better players can make things going better.

If mix means scrambling for a QF position and most likely waiting on points differential of a final pool game, then yes, they’ll be in the mix…..
I never doubt their effort or what natural ability and skill these guys have, but there is something fundamentally wrong with how the game is managed here in Oz and that influences on field performance more often than pulling one out of the hat. Are they a 10 test losing season team on paper - not in my books, but I’m not overly surprised in them losing the ones that they did (other than that first Lions test where I thought they would win).

@ACT-Crusader politics, laid over a narrow development pathway, is far more destructive than the Old School Ties realise.
