And Argentina's woes were all on Felipe for selecting a 6-2 bench

I am sick to death of British teams cheating with these constant TV slow-mo replays.

Yeah. Though I missed the bit where the British teams gained control over teh TV coverage and subsequent officiating. 😂

Went to HQ and watched it live, something of a muted atmosphere for much of the game. I've since watched the recording and some of my initial thoughts were reinforced and some I had to take a different view on

In general I thought that we went back to a poor kicking game, many of the kicks looked uncontestable or was it just that teh chase was not as good. The former I feel. Spencer in particular put up bomb after bomb that we couldn't get anywhere near. His kicking for touch clearances though were pretty good. Ford not as bad with the kicking game but overdid it a little. Live I felt that Daly had an OK game, from teh recording I had to change my mind, he looked a little off the pace and his decision making lacked precision. Steward had his best game for England for quite a while but still is not the answer. M Smith not the answer either but I would have liked to see him come on with 20 minutes to go.

From the TV it felt to me that it was a muted England performance though in the first half you could have said the same for the Argies. Second half they really had the energy and we seemed to have lost it. Curry's tackle on the Argie 15 was only a fraction late, he was committed and looked as though he was trying to lessen the impact. Penalty the correct call, the injury was just unfortunate. Both disallowed tries were the correct calls and yes the ref should have wound the clock back for the Argies after their disallowed try.

    Take aways for England:

    • Spencer is third choice 9 at best. Give Quirke a go or fall back on JVP.

    • Daly is no longer good enough or fast enough to play on the wing for England. We have a number of better options.

    • Ojomoh, could be the answer, at last, to England's problems at 12 - early days though.

    • We need Furbank back at 15

    • Ewels continues to be a waste of a large amount of space.

I think their backs overall performed worse than the ABs. But their forwards because of how their loosies played were better.

Well two things there. The Bongi incident was explained by the Saffers and accepted albeit with some slight feeling of "Hmmm. Really?"

Secondly, there is the clash between a current rugby player who has generally behaved extremely well, does not tend to mouth off or whine about injustice, nor become physically aggressive or confrontational outside in the way he plays against a former rugby player that has a history of aggression, some dirty play in the past, constant whining and mouthing off, exaggerating any small thing to get an advantage, perceived or otherwise.

    Hmmm. Who to believe?

Fair enough. Hopefully there is some camera footage to clear Curry…..the argies are asking for it.
The bongi thing… ..well I always thought that Curry was a bit precious there. Damn colonials eh.

They certainly say that they're asking for it. I don't know whether they have formally requested it though. If it exists.

On the Bongi thing, I can understand a non Afrikaans speaker thinking Wit Kant. might be an insult, but the translation is white side so no great issue. I am though reminded of the Douglas Bader story of when he was giving a talk about his WW2 experiences to a girls' school.

There were some Fockers in front of me. More Fockers behind me. There were Fockers all over the place. Cue lots of girls giggling. The headmistress then said that Bader should tell the girls that a Focker is a type of German aircraft.

Apparently he said yes that is correct. These particular Fockers were Messerschmidts.
