@SouthernMann I can’t believe they are considering Hammington over him.

Wonder if Pasetoa starts the season at 10 over Millar?

I really like the style that he is playing. Suits the guys he will have around him. Just needs to show he can kick well enough.

I think my biggest concern would be our basic skill execution across the board.

But as has been said, you can’t really read too much into pre-season

Was pretty anonymous. Typical I’ve played 60 odd international caps and this is pre season performance

Tangitau is fast. The rest can’t kick, catch, or make a line break

Tangitau quality. Tito-Harris has a heck of a left foot step. Solomon looked pretty good on attack ans worked hard in cover.

    Few quick thoughts:

    • Shearer and Pasitoa were really good in the second half

    • Haig was better at lock

    • Lasaqa was a ball of energy when on

    • the young back three kids were great.

I'm very keen to see more of Pasitoa at 10

    • Soanne Vikenna and Adam Lennox were fucking awful, and God help us if they see a 23 this season.
    • Robinson, Cribb, Lennox, Broughton, Millar, Kauai, and Bell were bang average.
    • Howden, Haig, Whaanga, Solomon, Lowe, Pasteoa, Tangitau, and Tito Harris stood out to me.
    • Shearer and Wingham probably deserve elevation from WTG to the main squad.
    • The Highlanders forwards still have no idea what ball security is.
    • Our attack and defence both have a lot of work ahead.
    • We grew into the game, but it was a bloody poor showing overall.

The only conclusions I will draw is Adam Lennox should be pissed off he was such a team man in the NPC. He looked lost at sea at halfback. Plus Pasitoa is stalking Cam Millar for the starting 10 jersey.

Most of the other stuff is manageable.

i know it sounds like a bit of a joke but a drawn second half is actually....something, stop the rot, didn't give up

Depends how quickly they sort it out. R1 Crusaders, R2 Chiefs, R3 Reds, R4 Crusaders, R5 Hurricanes.

Thats a tough road while figuring it out

@frugby yes just the 1st hit out of the year, like honestly the most anonymous Lucas Casey has been when I've watched him but I would like to think down the line If he were to play against say the Drua he would be more his usual self

Preseason you can’t take much out of it except how some young guys step up.
    Letiu ,Mathis,Lee,Treacy,Kunawave
All look like great prospects for the Crusaders,
Kellow,Kemera,Blackadder hit the ground running and looked really good.
Whaanga looked decent,Solomon has some skills and Tangitau looked dangerous as always.
Howden and Lasaqa put in big shifts
Landers still have a good squad will be a tough team to play.

    @jimmyb could agree more. 😂

Pasetoa looked sharp at 10. Only challenge could be the mix then. Ideally you want a playmaker 12 outside a 10 like that. Big Jim is more of a crash it guy.

But you could run for round 1 (assuming big Jim isn’t available). And I’d be fine with it.

    1. Fakatava
    2. Pasetoa
    3. Nareki
    4. Telea
    5. Lowe
    6. Tangitau
    7. JRK
    8. Shearer
    9. Solomon
    10. Whaanga

Jesus mate the back 3 were fine, the least of our concerns. Dont get too negative, it’s only pre season 1.

Yeh they were ok, I’ll take that back. We desperately need Nareki back though
