we usually leg press the first 40, then the 15 jumps. It IS brutal. should be 8 heavcy reps so there is no chance of a 9th rep, then strip down and do 12 (with no chance of a 13th), and then strip down a cracnk out 20. You then crawl off the leg press and start leaping about like a madman. The last five as you come down your legs only seem to work just before you bottom out, like hydraulics that need oil...!!!!

IS a great feeling once done, and yes, you'll be walking funniest about 2 days later.

Have never done it with the squats though, so I reckon deep and controlled is the go for the 40...

Not for a first time but I'm slightly confused. Is it 40 reps of squats and then 3 x 15 jump squats ? ( he asked hopefully.....)

Lots of excuses for not doing this exercise over the weekend, some of them are even valid like a burst pipe flooding our fucken kitchen on saturday and having to ring a plumber after hours.....

On a positive note I did a "Jordan" workout DVD with the wife, kind of a cardio boxing type thing. Sweating bucketloads after it actually. Jordan was clueless and rather shit but the cool black dude was pretty inspirational and knew what he was doing.

Without beating myself up too much and without an iota of false modestly I really think I have three fifths of five eighths of fuck all of a chance of completing this. Based on the good old 1 Rep max formula Bart how much should mine be approximately to even have a chance ? I'm sure the first few reps will feel like nothing but by the second set ( if I even make it ) I'm gonna be in a world of hurt.

Solid session tonight. Ran through a mix of the new programme and older exercises. Saw an improvement all round which was good - press-ups on swiss balls and a bench are nasty wee things. DL's were pretty good too. Good stuff all round. Squats next time - reckon I'll be knocking on 145kg or so - hooraah!

we do press ups with a medicine ball under one hand at the moment, changing every 5 reps for a set of 20. Feels weird, but knocks you about, that is for sure - chest still sore today from Mondays workout.

Excellent workout tonight. Decided to stay at 140 and do two sets. In the end I smashed them, managed two full sets at 140 so I was stoked. Reckon 145 will definitely be on next round. Makes the goal of 150 not that far off!

Rest of things went well. Will be seeing PT to revamp this workout in the next couple of weeks. Knowing him I'll have some nasty new exercises to inflict on myself!

Have to admit I've been thinking about checking out crossfit after reading Kirwan's thread - could be that extra mix of cardio/endurance that I haven't quite squeezed in just yet.

Pushed a bit of tin tonight. Mixed up my workout with some older and newer exercises - DL's were really good. Bench was a bit rough but I left it till the end. Reckon the pushups on the swiss balls killed me! Everything coming along nicely which is good. Really keen to keep momentum going through winter. Going to head along to a boxing circuit later this week - should be fun! and it's cardio!

They're good aren't they, although I do them alternating after each rep, rolling the ball across back and forth. Good one for strengthening he core as well.

First boxing circuit in ages tonight. Was really bloody good. Dug out my wraps and got in a bit early to warm up. Wailing on the bag was great fun. Just what I was looking for with my cardio and endurance. Plan is to get along to 1-2 sessions a week to go with my 2-3 weight sessions.

Set a cracking pace during todays workout. In and out in just over 45min. Squats are going mint - warm up set feels light as and definitely nearing the point of increasing weight again. On target to hit 150kg by mid-late July which will be the most I've been able to squat. Will be well chuffed with that.

Didn't pull up sore after the boxing circuit so that was a bonus. All the ab exercises through it were easy as - a real indication of how much my core strength has improved.

Definitely on a training buzz at the moment - good fun! very cool to read similar things in the rest of the fatbusters threads too. Excellent for additional motivation.

Up and down workout tonight. Did raised DL's so I could crank up the weight. First set was ok but it ripped my hands up a bit - had to do 2 rep sets after that. Managed to get through them but still a bit frustrated about how slowly they are coming along.

Rest of the workout was really good though! bench and swiss ball press ups in particular. Thrusters and kettle bells were all good too.

Was a tad surprised to see I've crept up to 100kg!! have definitely trimmed down but still got a bit of belly yet, last time I weighed myself I was around 97ish. Have definitely hit that stage where body shape etc is the focus over weight.

Second boxing session tonight. Good fun. Actually loosened me up from yesterday workout. Back at the gym tomorrow before we head away for the weekend. Will have to see how the body feels tomorrow.

boxing is cool that's for sure, great sweat up after o.1 seconds I used to find. After a minute sparring wet like you'd been for a swim!

Hell yeah, I sweat like a bastard so after a few swings I've got a sheen on for sure. Not sore at all today - just that nice sense of slightly fatigued muscles.

Keen as to rip into squats tonight, time to add a bit of weight - will have a crack at 130, 145, 140. Warming up on 120 seems a bit light and it'll help in the long run to increase it over all three sets.

Should have a good sleep tonight - 3 days in a row isn't my usual workout pattern!

Thats quite a heavy warm up weight mate?

I usually start at 60kg for 12 reps and then go to 100kg for first real working set.
