Yeah but my membership fees are competitive and I never have to wait to use equipment.
yeah the CBF syndrome raises its head from time to time. I tend to relate it to not having eaten enough or being really short on sleep. You never regret working out though!! that little gem has got me through numerous CBF's!!
Yep, that is for sure - you always feel a million bucks after the workout (if you can walk that is) and stoked you did it, just have to get through those first few sets to get the blood flowing!

For sure, better to do it than not do it but somedays you're definitely not 100% and the last rep you got last week isn't always in the tank ( I blame two young sons keeping me awake all fucken night last week, broken sleep isn't good if you're trying to recover etc )

My supplement mate who previously worked at Les Mills ( and constantly tried to get me to sign up ) says that very few people have the discipline to do weights at home. Discipline is not a word most would associate with me especially when they see me at a bar with free piss but on the whole I've never had a problem getting motivated to smash a bit of tin. I love the convenience and the fact that if I arse out ( as I have done on numerous occasions ) there is no one there to laugh at me.

So today was deadlift day, after a warm up I thought I'd go for a few reps of 160kg, third rep in I felt something twinge in the back ( kinda just below the shoulder, the reverse side of where there pecs are ) fuck it hurt so I stopped immediately. It's not like it's a weight I can't handle, well its heavy but still.....not sure what I've done and promise this isn't some weak excuse to get out of Barts squat routine !!!! hopefully its ok after a few days rest.....

Hows the back dude?? had it been a while since you hit the DL's? hopefully it's come right and you can get back into the swing of things.

Naaa just a week or so, farkin sore this morning and now I stink of deep heat which seems to be working. I'm sure a week off will aid the recovery.

So popped out to the garage before work and tentatively tried a couple of chins, mutha fucka ! the pain shot up my whole left shoulder. I've definitely done something so gave up after a measly couple of reps. May have to go and see a physio.

Getting sharp pain in the shoulder while moving a couple of boxes over the weekend that weren't particularly heavy convinced me that in terms of "pulling" exercises ( curls, chins, deads ) I need another week off at least. I still busted out some clap push ups in an ad break no probs though, weird how the body can cope with some things. Will do some benching later in the week. I also managed to skillfully land on my big toe whilst showing my sons how to ( not ) breakdance so that hurt like fucken anything, it's nice and swollen and purple ( don't think it is broken, I can still walk, sort of. What an idiot. Digby Ioane I am not.
The wife is on a huge health kick at the moment, doing her Jordan workout DVD so I've done it a couple of times, surprisingly hard work actually. Both of us eating very well and feeling better in general which is cool.

You're dead right Bart, my breakdancing antics were very reminiscent of Al Bundy.....or your Dad !

Especially when you transfer over to the Jordan workout... I don't know why I keep imaging Bill Cosby when typing that!!

Shoulder still sore, Toe on the mend but I'm all full of flu and would rather chew my own arm off than go out in the cold garage lifting weight at the mo. That is all for now.

Mrs B has been down with a flu type thing. No cold like symptoms, just body ache and feeling like a pile of dogshit. good to go now though, was Tuesday and Wednesday, trainied this morning etc.

Flu just about all gone and whilst the shoulder still won't allow for pulling exercises ( I really need to get off my assss and see someone ) theres no probs at all with "pushing". Thought I'd give a few sets of push presses a go, well one warm up and one to failure, I was in a hurry. Now I haven't done these in ages but I think the deads I've been doing and the plyometric push ups may have helped increase my explosiveness, I ripped out 12 x 70kg which I'm chuffed to bits about. One of these reps shook the garage as I hit the ceiling beam which fucked with my Chi a bit but I really focused on locking out at the end ( last couple of reps maybe not 100% perfect but still a nice burn in the upper body )

Actually the whole body gets a fairly good working over on these, my invisible abs are feeling it today.

Shoulder seems to be ok ( antics shooting clays over the weekend with a shotgun may have helped lodge it back in place ) so gonna attempt some Deads tonight methinks. Will be interesting to see how I go after a layoff from these.

Eased into the deads tonight finishing with 8 x 150kg, I felt I had a few left in me but I wasn't keen to push it after my injury break. No pain in the shoulder whatsoever, based on the fact I didn't go to failure I may go all out later in the week on these.

Did my first set of deads yesterday for the first time in two weeks. First shoulder issue and then had the ribs. Seems all good now but still was a light day for me yesterday too only up to 120kg. Hopefully can push for more come thursday.
