BBBR had a fair bit to do with the collapsed maul that led to the YC. He's well practised in the dark arts of forward play now.

It's a bit like that quandary of what to do if you see a player throw a deliberate haymaker that fails to connect well.
There's no doubt that the action is illegal even if the consequences aren't as bad as they could have been -
