@Rancid-Schnitzel Nope, neither am I. Think he should go to the Blues. Falcon may be more worth keeping in the Canes frame. Promising young lad, but very young still. Can't wait seeing him play for the NZ U20s.

    Good win from the Canes.
Landers disappointing; even BFA was only average. Maybe they brought him back too soon (because they ran out of options)?

Well Li was a good buy. How much did the hurricanes pay for him? What a fucking one man wrecking ball. Half the highlanders ended up spending half their time covering his fuck ups and so looked average. Even BFA chose to completely ignore him and go himself for the try due to not trusting Li to catch the ball and run 10m untouched without fucking up.

Good to see Faddes and Buckman back in a little bit of form even if underdone.

Canes awesome. The talked about Shields had an excellent game...shat on Dixon.

Entertaining game. Obviously happy with the bounce back win for the Canes but my second team Landers played a great game with all of their injuries. That Jordie is a chip off the old block eh? Shifty feet, measured cross kick to set up a try, some great passing. Everyone showed up and we won well

Fair call.. but a couple weeks back it was red all day

Nope. He was going for the ball. Red would have been ridiculous.

    Nice try to Dixon.

These rules are going to swing a few matches this season, the current interpretation is terrible

Only 7 penalties in this game. Gardner has been good to this point.

I thought he had a great game. It was a good game to watch. The teams played in good spirit which helped

Wasn't that from a tackled in the air? That's a completely different situation.

Correct. Feki didn't get red either, by the way.

    Did he get a yc?

    Concussion wasn't it?

Li's a big tease. He had a big game in round 1 against the Chiefs, but since then, he's done very little. He was very much the same at the Blues, he'd give us that one massive game each year that'd give you hope that he could be special one day, but then he'd follow that game up with a bunch of non-events.

Here are his attacking stats for the season so far:

    Round 1(Chiefs) - 113m, 4 clean breaks, 8 defenders beaten

    Round 2(Crusaders) - 25m, 1 clean break, 2 defenders beaten

    Round 3(Blues) - 29m, 0 clean breaks, 1 defender beaten

    Round 4(Hurricanes) - 28m, 1 clean break, 2 defenders beaten

He also has 11 turnovers conceded to his name and is tackling at 68%.

The last 3 games were like his normal game stats at the Blues.

Oh yeah thought Perenara was a bit unlucky, seems Smith was actually knocked out by TJ hitting the ball into his dial! It was a falcon of the highest order. Hilarious when slowed down especially with the expression on Smith's face. I was kinda glad to see Banks come on too... Even if he did try to outdo Li on a couple of occasions.

Not that different really. You are looking at foul play both ways and there is an expectation of care being taken.

TJP may have been going for the ball but he was also swinging his arm toward a head at pace. He is expected to judge the danger of his action just as a competing player at a high kick situation is.

Some players look good at U20 level then poor at Super level: Akira Ioane and Tevita Li take a bow (had a mare).

Others effortlessly make the step up: hello Jordie Barrett. Has AB stamped all over him.

Laumape is having a great start to the season.

Shout out to Luke Whitelock who had a high work-rate in a losing cause.

Why does Otere Black not head to the Blues?? Would be a guaranteed starter week after week...

And they both received a yellow card for it.

It was completely different to the Luatua situation where Luatua deliberately did use force.

@Billy-Tell why would a young 10, I assume with AB aspirations, go to the Blues? I read something the other day the Blues have had 23 or so 10s since Carlos, who would have been the last AB 10 at the Blues?

Granted it is an opportunity to be the one to right the ship, but a big risk isn't it.

According to my information, he's coming off contract at the end of the 2017 season. He is contracted to the Turbos until 2018 though.

BFA back a bit early I thought ... made some big mistakes.

Gardner is a truly outstanding referee.

While watching the game last night, I couldn't help but hope that Gardner is one of the 3 refs used in the Lions series. I rate him highly and I suppose it's between him, Peyper, Garces and Poite for the test appointments. Maybe Joubert is still in the mix.
