So if that knock-on had been spotted by the officials, Dmac would never had scored this try.

@Stargazer They haven't shown a replay, but my initial reaction was that it wasn't a knock-on because it went backwards (if we are talking about the same one).

They just showed it on the replay. Definitely forward.

@Kirwan Probably, but I'd rather see them score tries & win without that being the result of mistakes from officials.

The officials have missed stuff both ways, they just missed a Bull stepping out.

Difference is the Chiefs used the possession to score points.

I must have missed the replay, but assuming it was a knockon ... Mistakes happen. There was a dreadful decision at a scrum a while back to give the Bulls a PK when their loosehead just stood up. Swings and roundabouts.

Farkin intense and messy last 5 - but well played by the Chiefs in the end. Great play by Messam to win that last penalty.
Beaver should head for his dam - he looks done in..

It has to be said, the Bulls weren't half as bad as I expected based on last week's game. They lasted longer, too. Travelling definitely had an impact on them last week. They should beat the Sunwolves if they play like they did during tonight's first half.

The Chiefs shouldn't have any problem in South Africa the next two weeks with the Stormers & Cheetahs being their opponents.

Wouldn't put the house on it. The Stormers are more of an unknown then people probably know. Not very safe going against an unbeaten team - sometimes they just find a team to win, and it's not like the Stormers haven't got the players.

A frustrating game to be at as the Chiefs couldn't catch a pass in the 1st half so never put the Bulls under any pressure. When they did string some phases together the Bulls were struggling to keep up but that didn't happen often enough. A little better in the 2nd half but a very average performance in all. The Bulls should also get some credit as they played an expansive game.

The concern now will be the health of Cane and Laulala, and Nonu Jr has been cited. The midfield stocks are thin enough at the moment.

Speaking of Fa'auli, he shot out of the defensive line twice early on and missed both tackles. Still very green at this level but I'm not sure Beaver's old legs are good enough to last with regular games.

And I agree with @cheetahsBO , the Stormers at Newlands won't be easy. The Chiefs will have to play much better to win that game.

Thought TKB was outstanding. And I was a little surprised how crisp was his passing, which I havent seem historically as a strength. It would appear that last year he was still feeling after effects of the horrible injury.

What worries me about TKB is - who the fuck stole his calf muscles and why hasn't he noticed?

@pakman TKB is playing well but TJP and ASmith are looking very good this year. I can't see TKB getting into the 23 unless there is an injury.
