Boychild doing ok, but I honestly don't see him being anything other than a journeyman. He's still very young though.

No prizes for guessing who missed that tackle.

    Weak

    Shields?

    Aso

Actually both could have stopped Zeilinga if they'd tried.

I just don't enjoy repeat mauls to try and get a YC. Too hard to defend. Just spin it.

I really like how Perenara is playing at the moment. Except for the game v the Chiefs, he's been really great this season. Better than Smith IMO.

His passing, especially from set piece and long balls has been a bit of a worry, but otherwise in brilliant form.

How funny was Shields, definitely didn't wanna score that.

His passing is still inconsistent. I prefer Smith starting at the moment - giving BB that extra yard of space will be important.

Beauden goes past Mehrts on the all time point scoring list by nailing one from the sideline. Excellent.

    How is Black playing?

He could do with a left boot, IMO.

Jules subbed off. Did he even touch the ball?

Great run Ben Lam. But Jonah Lowe should be playing instead according to some....

@KiwiMurph I would have left Goosen out of the line-up, not Lam.

He's just there to translate the Cheetahs calls from Afrikaans

Would be an incredible AB selection to go past an incumbent who is having a massive influence on games.
I'd be shocked if a fit tj doesn't start, he's simply playing better than Smith

Some decent touches in the first 40, but quiet game overall.

@Siam i think TJP's also better equipped to deal with the hustling bustling Lions pack.

Pretty good crowd at the game considering its the Cheetahs and rough weather in Welly today.

Smith's pass is far superior to TJPs, and that alone has been key to the ABs the past few years. TJP may well get the start but I don't think it's a given at all.

Pretty amazing stat from the first half, Perenara leading turnovers in super rugby by a long way.
