Great stuff Landers!!!!! What an effort.

A have to say, some of these Lions knockons are spectacular. They must be passing ridiculously hard or something. That last one went for miles.

Can't help but think that Dylan Hartley would have been a better midweek captain than Warburton...

        Ha ha - Marty Banks!

I texted my Highlanders' supporting brother in law with 10 minutes to go and told him Banks would win it for him!

        Iceman!

Am liking Sam Warburton. Very impressive.

So that was 3 tries to 2 to Lions?

Warburton was only there because of injury.

                Best would have been captain.

Anyone giving the Landers a chance here? I feel like their style is one that could be effective against a Lions side a fair bit weaker than Saturday's team.

In the forwards there's enough experience to be able to win their set piece. Two guys who I'm expecting big games from are Whitelock and Ainley, they have a break after this so can really play like there is no tomorrow. Hemopo is the only new guy.

Aaron Smith is obviously a big loss as it's him that really organises and sparks those forward runners. But Hammington has been in the squad all year, there should be plenty of familiarity there.

But from 10 out there is talent aplenty, with a guaranteed dry ball I just don't think the Lions defence will be able to stop the Landers backs from scoring 2-3 tries. And if this Lions combination doesn't really click on attack, I could see this Clan team squeaking home.

Speaking of fekitoa , will be interesting to see him trying to prove a point tonight , could be a few lions backs waking up a bit sore tomorrow

I thought that was a try, no clear separation between the hands and the ball. They didn't have much of a look at it though.

Woohoo with 20 to go i thought the lions would win it. Naholo was my man of the match. The slow mo of Lawes knocking himself the fuck out on his shoulder was great.

Glad that last bullshit penalty for the "deliberate" knock on didn't cost the Highlanders the game.
Also glad the lions weren't able to take that long range kick from 5m infront of the mark like they almost did.

Lets hope the Maori, Hurricanes and Chiefs can pull off wins too.
