Still keeping on keeping on. Weight about 98-99kg depending on the time of day. Strength in most lifts at an all time high. Really pleased that I busted out six chin ups with 30kg attached the other day, belt didnt like it though so the buckle snapped and had to buy another one, DOH !

Buying another one was definitely on the cards as the pants are pretty loose still, a bit more give than during the World cup as alluded to above !

[sup]Deadlifted for the first time since november ( according to my vague training schedule ) and maxed out at 215kg !!!! [/sup]

[sup]Fucken thrilled about that, I put the improvement down to chins/pulls which I have been doing quite a lot of. Awesome feeling getting that weight up there. [/sup]

that's impressive mate! Would love to one day crack the 200kg mark.

I have done some decent reps at ok weights lately. Will have to give a true 1RM a go sometime soon.

wow, wicked. Been a loooong time since I've been near 200. 240 or 260 my PB. and 240 or 260 my PB squat, can't remember which way around!!

but target 200, that's a grand target.

Cheers boys. For some reason I've always been pretty good at deads. Absolutely no way I could squat anywhere near that amount but since its my best lift I always say that it, not the squat, are the ultimate king of all exercises haha.

I'm in the same boat mate. Find I enjoy deadlifts and do a fair bit more on them then I can squat. The king of exercises indeed.
Yep or a root ripped out of the ground. Mind you that doesn't always go to plan, go back a couple of pages to find out how I injured myself when I bit off more than I could chew ( or in this case rip out of the ground hahaha )

at the moment my squat and deadlift are neck and neck pretty much. Think squats at full noise now though, still a little left in the tank for the deads... loving it.

                                Hey partner,

Marginally disappointing actually, only ripped out 5 on the 5+ and even then it was only just, no way I was gonna even contemplate a 6th ( this was for benching )

Maybe I didn't rest enough between sets ? not enough sleep maybe ? ( work has been stressing me out so definitely a possibliity ). Perhaps I shoulda started on the 90% as suggested. What are your thoughts dude ?
You lifted more than 5 reps of that weight before? If not you might have just got ya 1RM wrong / too high.

Or maybe just an off day....we all have them.

1st weeks pretty though so bit of a suprise. Its not a fail or anything though - you made the minimum reps.

Yeah pal, 7 I think but the first two sets may have taken more out of me than I thought. Will see how next bench session goes. Forgot to say I did a 5/3/1 for bicep curls, now I did FARKIN well at that strangely enough, I split the workouts in half across the day. Chest and arms sore today !

I too, can deadlift plenty more than i can squat, and i reckon its a heap more useful strength. We had to change a wheel on the trailer at work the other day......d'oh, no jack. Outta the way boys.........i reckon it was only about 100kg lift but im sure it looked impressive!

Amen to all of the above pal. Deadlifting is far more useful "real world" strength. While I wouldn't mind squatting more than I do ( or don't ) Deadlifting is more beneficial and is the ultimate exercise IMESHO.

They work really well together though - but I agree you are far more likely to be DL'ing something rather than squatting. Unless you go to a lot of concerts and hoist chicks on your shoulders!!

For a while I was squatting more than I was doing on DL. DL has snuck ahead now though.

Nice work Voltron! nothing like a casual lift to impress the lads - "oh, what? nah bro it ain't heavy at all (takes one hand off to scratch nose). All good"
