You are both correct! got that 'nice' muscle soreness today... all over my body!! agh!

I can see myself developing a love/hate relationship with this workout already ha ha

Planning on a sat morning DL and back session... might see how I feel tomorrow morning though. There is always sunday! -
Second kettlebell session today - nasty. Was pretty stoked as I've got the swing and clean sorted now - just about getting rhythm and using hip drive to get the KB above shoulder height.
-
Awesome.Gotta sort that KB swing myself this week as struggled last week.

Just out of interest, what weight KB were you using? I reckon mine was too heavy for me first up at 22kg. Was easy for the squats, OK for the press, 8s and rows but too much for me on the swing. Might be better this week -
32kg for swings and squats
24kg for the swing and clean (where you end up standing with your arm straight up in the air)
20kg for the super sets where I do swings, squats and swing and clean.

I like a heavier KB for the swing, so it pulls you around a bit.

lol but then again I'm 1-2kg's heavier than your good self JK! ahh and the rest!! -
Solid workout this evening.

Bit of kettlebell work then into DL's. Warmed up on 100s then worked through 10kg increases till I maxed out at 170. Then racked back to 140 for a final set.

Did some core work and then bench and arnie presses to finish up.

Saw a couple of guys, maybe 80kegs each, struggling away on dumbbell bench press. Shit, I don't have perfect form or anything but it was amusing. They had gone waaaaay too heavy and could barely get them up. Then they increased weight! ffs it was classic. The guy working out on the other side of them and me both twitched on that last set. Could have sworn one of the dumbbells was going to hit the guy in the head! the spotter was holding the dumbbells together so they might as well just done standard bench.

You lot seen any gym muppets lately? always like to hear the stories lol. Like watching fail vids on youtube! -
Yeah mate I'm always on the look out for gym muppets.

Saw some dude try move the ezy bar a few months back all loaded up but no locks on it. Got a slight angle on and all hell broke loss as weights slipped off one end and then that end shot up in the air as the other side unloaded haha

People with piss poor rowing technique always get me chuckling too. -
Ahhh sounds like she isn't shy either!! bet she thinks her shit doesn't stink too!!

I don't tend to 'instruct' anyone on form etc unless they ask for help or are clearly going to hurt themselves in the next couple of minutes. Even then it's a bit iffy!

You see it a lot with the younger college lads - often one will be heaps bigger than the others and they'll knock about with poor form, too heavy weights etc. Ah to be young again lol -
Mean session tonight. Squats are coming back now which is awesome. Something just clicked on the 160 set and it was smooth as. Weird as 150 felt tougher! Shoulders, core, back and triceps. Good all round.

she is seriously weird, not a normal person, and defo not a gym bunny, just a plain strange person.

I'm the same, will do nothing unless asked, and then always preface, with, "well, what works for me'...
[/quote]
have to agree with you, not only is each body different, but no point telling someone what to do if they have no effing inclination to ever follow it. -
KB's = pain and oxygen deprivation!! Really good workout tonight. Starting to get the hang of things now - esp the swing and snatch. Clean and press is getting there too. Still way too inflexible to get into proper front squat position with the bar. Stretching out forearms and wrists but it's a work in progress.

Back at the gym after a (mild) dose of man flu.

Squats were very good - 1406, 1606, 1506 and 10020 to finish, Had a wee wobble at the bottom of the last rep at 160kg but all that practice got me through. Drove down through the heels and up she went. By going for 6 reps in each set I probably work a bit within myself. Thinking about having a crack at my 1RM for squats, but I haven't tried anything above 165kg before - for a single lift I think I could manage 180 or so but I'd be nervous!! With bench you have a spotter and on DL's you fail when you just can't pick the bugger up. Squats are a tad trickier to bail out on!

I hit bench next for 1006, 1104, 110*4. Really pleased with the reps at 110. I was doing 2-3 reps on decline @125 early last month so I thought I'd have a crack at 110 today. Funny how those little breaks work. Probably helps that I'm around 103kg at the moment - I also think the KB work I've been doing has improved shoulder strength too.

Standing shoulder press 60kg for 6, 4, and 4. I'd already done bench so shoulders were a bit knackered. Finished up with some dips, core work and guns. -
Back workout today - just two variations of seated pull downs, heavy as we could go. Def going to be sore tomorrow!
