If Taranaki wins the Shield tonight, they already have a challenge on Wednesday. From Manawatu. Whoever wins that game, keeps the Shield until next season.

Wow, Taranaki! 8 minutes to go and they lead 52 to 38. Surely, Canterbury can't come back from this?

Naki have really piled in at the breakdown in the last 10 minutes. Excellent work.

Game over and the Shield gets a holiday away 🙂

@bones said in Canterbury vs Taranaki (Ranfurly Shield):

Wow, that was a pathetic display of defence by Wainui for the first try. Looks like Taranaki are going to get taught a lesson. Canterbury waltzing through the midfield at will.

If only I'd put money on it.

There are still a few Naki-Crusaders without contract. I think they made a good case for themselves! McKenzie, Mataele, Wainui.

Very happy for the Naki. I hope they keep it for the summer, but midweek Manawatu have a chance.

Bloody hell, imagine if you'd put a tenner on the Poo having the Shield back at the start of the season.
