Fatbusting: Kirwan's log

Mowed the lawn and went for a 20min Indoor cycle straight after that. Certainly got a sweat up in this heat.
Had no ill effects from the run early in the week, other than epic “I can’t walk down the stairs” DOMS.
I’ve been getting regular massages because of inactivity/headaches. Might have to address the legs next time!

@kirwan I'm feeling a bit worse for wear after having to mow my lawn today...
4 hour hike yesterday in the heat and then today my ride on decided to break this morning, so 3.5 hours of lawn mowing today in the heat, showers, humidity....sweated buckets this weekend!

At least my lawn is tiny, only takes 30/40min to mow it and do the edges. But that heat was a killer today.

Not dead
I did however overdo it last Sunday, so had to dial it back a bit. Have taken the opportunity to clean up the diet and am feeling much more energetic as a result.
Have kept the daily activity up with the targets on the Apple Watch, and been able to do ‘hidden’ exercise like playing cricket with my kids.
So all good, next couple of exercise sessions will be on the exercise bike.
-
30min on the Exercise Bike watching the Punisher. Didn't go too hard, but raised enough of a sweat to offend the family.
No side effects the next day, other than a sore lower back from my lack of core strength
Will get another one in this week (it's going to be an active week anyway) and try for three the following week. I'd love to go for another run, but I think I need to build up to it unfortunately.
-
@kirwan Small steps feller. Just keep telling yourself that each small step is in the right direction. I've noticed over the last 4-5 weeks that the workouts I'm doing with my personal trainer are getting A) more enjoyable and
getting more done. To my mind this has to be positive.
-
Got the two bike rides in and decided to the try the 5km run again and see where I'm at.
I think I got passed by some old dude on a walker, but there were less breaks this time. And the DOMS was not as bad the next day, which is a good thing in a house with two flights of stairs.
Sticking to the diet, and a couple of kgs have come off. 100 more to go
Energy is through the roof, so no complaints. Took two and half years to get into this shape, will take a while to reverse it.

Still making my way through the Crossfit classes. Had a slight setback when I got the classes mixed up and instead of doing the beginner class I did the normal WOD class.
Big difference is the use of weights, and since it’s been two years since I last lifted anything, something when ping on the run. Yep, the stupid calf that took me ages to get right didn’t enjoy the weight on the bar or the weight on me and went tight on the run.
I stopped before I tore it, and rested this week.
Endurance is certainly improving. We are selling our house and I might as well have been doing Crossfit classes according to my heart rate and exercise recording on the Apple Watch. So many things to move, now and tidy up

Staying in orcs? Saw the link on FB. Good luck with the sale!
Good work on dialling back before your calf got niggly, ha ha double check the programme before class

Yeah, I am not a smart man.
I started the WOD thinking, gee this is tougher than last week.
Yep, staying in Auckland-ish, moving a little further north.
-
Ha ha and you can't back out at that stage

Meh, had a relapse so have had to quit Crossfit. Experiment over.
Will now have to focus on diet and low intensity cardio. Anybody have a nutritionist they recommend?

Is that the Paleo dufus?
indeed. Bone broth for your baby bro!
-
All you need is sunlight and raw water bro!! Really stink to hear that crossfit is off the table. Was intensity the issue? Or all of it? Just wondering if you could dial back the pace but keep lifting.

Fucked if I know. Unfortunately am too busy at work and home to experiment.
If I do start up again, being lighter will certainly help.
And hoping improvements to the diet will help too, I keep putting it off.
