@JK reckon it's cool to be able to look back over previous training logs. When you can do that over several years you can really see progress, or how your approach to training has changed.

lol you don't have any issues on the dedication front, I consider you to be our pace setter... In my mind you are running 4min kays, while the rest of us are a wee bit more spread out in the pack!!

Then there are our sleeper agents who pop up to let us know about a recent marathon or epic cycle race 🙂 sometimes I use other names for those guys ha ha

Can't recall if you mentioned any specific goals for training this year? more of the same? Training for the Blues 2019 squad perhaps?!

Well I think my training has hardly changed! Its all just part of life now for me and one of the reasons I get up each day.

No real goals this year, just to stay fit which will allow me to get the most out of life. Wife has signed up for a half marathon later this year so might have to do some running with her.

My dedication to fitness is a lot more than you'd think from my crap training logs ( on here ) but for me and the mrs it's staying strong, fit and mobile. She loves pointing out how inflexible I am ( well, compared to her ) but our boys love how we run around, climb trees and show off far more than most 40-45 year olds without resorting to embarrassing activewear.

@mn5 just wait till the penny drops for them that all that 'activity' is just prep for adult fun times!! the horror!! Almost as bad as the last Star Wars movie lol.

@JK reckon that's the ticket aye. Fit for life, whether the training is the absolute focus, or a key tool in enjoying the rest of your hobbies.

I hate douchebag Dads who take kids to the park and sit their fat asses on the bench playing on their phones. I vow never to be one of them, I'm always on the monkey bars or running round playing tag.

    Sometimes my boys join me.

I was at a BBQ years back and witnessed a group of dads refusing to play footy with their sons despite them basically getting on their hands and knees and begging. It wasn't that they didn't love their kids, they were just really fat and unfit. Made a big impression on me and Ive made sure that I'm never that kind of dad. What kind of a role model are you if you're in your late 30s and have already gone to pie?

Hopefully it will have some kind of positive effect down the line.

It's not that hard to stay in ok shape.

But then I guess it's easy to turn to late with bad diet/inactivity too.....

Hard work playing with the kids at times. Im actually glad summers almost over as my lad is a cricket fanatic and demands I bowl to him every night after work. Would usually get 10 to 15 overs in most times and weekends are another story altogether.

The wife and I actually went away for a weekend without the kids a few weeks back and when we came back he had taught the 5 year old how to bowl and shes actually dam good. Took a bit out of my workload thats for sure

A lot of head high full tosses mate. And on an extended run up meaning half way down the track. Doesn’t give me much time to deal with it but I reckon it’s gotta be good for him. Should find a vid as they are crack up!

@jk that'd be gold - tell her to keep up the high stuff, then fire in a yorker. Sounds like her approach is either hit him in the head or the nuts!!

Good luck for the golf - who is your pick to win? I hear Goldie on RS this morning backing Rahm. He thought McIlroy and Reed were playing ok but not as hot today. But a quick glance at the leaderboard shows Reed with a 2 shot lead and McIlroy has dropped off the pace.

Man, the Masters is such a cool event.

Rough day at golf yesterday. I hit the ball pretty well and sank my putts but approach game poor. Rest of my team was fairly shithouse to be honest.

A few pics from Saturday at Tara Iti on the link below (clink to be able to flick through)

Todays workout was legs. Skipped the BB squats as knees feeling it a bit after two days of golf.

Ride - 10mins plus roll and mobility
Leg press - about 10 sets up to 3 sets of 10 at 180kg
Lying hamstring curls - 5 sets
    Leg extensions - 5 sets
    Calf press - 4 sets
    Calf raises - 4 sets
    Good mornings - 3 sets
    Body weight squats (+20kg plate) x 20, 20, 20 reps

Abs work was hanging leg raises (4 sets), side crunches (3 sets), planks (3 sets),
