On a night like this, where the Crusaders showed mastery of the conditions, why would Christchurch want to build a covered stadium and turn every game into a dry weather track meet?

So the fans don't drown/catch hypothermia/stay in the pub?

@canefan simple things like running close to touch line turning ball over too easy, too many passes around contact, not kicking for territory.

Maybe cover the fans and leave the players exposed? The canes would prefer a dry hard track indoors...

Probably so they can get a crowd of 30k rather than 10k.

You guys should probably build an indoor stadium then - and also pay half for one to be built in Chch? 🙂

I've sat in the wind and rain at the Tin. No problem. I'm not convinced a roof will compel people to go watch live rugby en masse

@canefan Build it for your players!

Maybe a roof over the players, but don't cover the seating! Leave those bureaucrats in the rain - do them good...! 🙂

The weather is a home field advantage. Maybe a stadium like Hisense in Melbourne. All stands covered but the field is totally open to the cold and rain

Have you analysed their flame thrower and firework budget? Even in they build an indoor stadium I'd rate the chances of a fog final occurring again.

Well, a result I didn't expect -regardless of the rain. A night for dominating territory and smothering defence and the Crusaders did that well.

The rain shut down the Canes backs and the Crusaders had superior tactics. Mo'unga was excellent. Big Seta was actually to the forefront in illustrating the necessary tactics by grubbering through while on attack - his execution wasn't as good as his tactical appreciation. Hall was very good and Goodhue was excellent. Forwards just ground it out as required. Very good effort.

Major worry is another bunch of players hobbling off - hope we'll get some reinforcements back next week - otherwise we might struggle to field a team vs the Chiefs.

Crusaders now five points ahead of the Canes, but they have a game in hand. Advantage Crusaders, but only a very narrow one.

The record is red and black mate. Perhaps the one eye you're looking at it with is the colour blind one?

Atrocious first 20 or 30 by both teams, or maybe at was just canes in ascendency then but atrocious handling, Crusaders eventually worked out their tactics. In the end I think score flattered canes.
