No, you don’t have to feel for the Waratahs there... didn’t defend properly and lost a bonus point accordingly 🙂

Yup - all the talk has been about Akira, but I think this kid Parete looks the goods

I thought we got a few hometown calls tonight. Gotta say that I’m no fan of Jackson reffing. Just damn glad we were at home.

Personally I have no idea how you can have an ex chief reffing the game?

@hooroo yep, the lenancy the Chiefs were allowed at the breakdown was laughable. Still, the Waratahs knew in advance what Jackson is like and never adapted.

Brodie is the man! Just a beast. Ngatai had a few good breaks too.
Best game i have seen Harris play.

Always glad to see the Tahs get beaten.

                    Phew.

Thank god for Retallick. I missed the last two minutes thanks to Mrs gt12 and the small annoyance of our wedding anniversary.

Glad we sent them home with nothing (even though they deserved something). Folau and Beale were outstanding.

                    How did Dmac score?

@gt12 Scrum on 80 minutes went to TTT on the blindside then he switched it back Dmac caught it stepped the rush defence and under near the posts.

BBBR was so good. Will be chucking that one in the wank bank.

That scrum call against the Tahs near the end I thought was shit by the AR the 8 had his hand on it then took it off.

@williethewaiter yeah I was surprised when he was subbed given the state of the game, but luckily his replacement was fizzing!

I thought I'd watch a replay before commenting because the view at the ground is different to what you see on TV. The Chiefs had a definite plan to kick in behind the Tahs wingers, particularly the Fijian prop, and they won the kicking duel. Even some poor kicks turned out OK because they chased and put pressure on Folau and Foley.

Not mentioned yet was that this was a good test for Tu’inukuafe against Kepu in the scrum and he passed with flying colours. The ABs really stood up for the Chiefs in this game, and they needed them to. I'll take 5 pts against a team the Chiefs have always struggled against.

A couple of players I've been critical of were also impressive - Allardice and Karpik.

I didn't hear any humorous banter towards Folau from our section of the stand. Most of our abuse was directed towards the ARs who seemed to ignore obvious backline offsides.

Who was it that rushed DMac for the final try? Wow what an outstandingly moronic piece of defence. Rush the best stepper in the opposition at a straight angle and don't balance/slow. No one could have predicted what happened next...

Foketi. Probably still thought he was playing for BOP. 🤣

Watched the scrums with interest, and noted Tu'inukuafe had a nicce straight back, and managed to get underneath Kepu on some occasions (similar to Hames) and a couple where he folded Kepu as well. There was also that excellent scrum where the Chiefs pack demolished the Tahs, driving them backwards and off the ball, of which Tu'inukuafe was a big part of.
He (Tu'inkuafe) seems to have a good, low centre of gravity, good weight distribution and good feet placement, can't wait to see him pack down against a French scrum.
