@Chris-B that's where we went wrong, Mo'unga should have been taken out in the first 10 mins. Poor tactics.

In seriousness, we won't touch you guys in the wet, our pack is just too shit. But on a dry track if our backs get their confidence up they can break open any defense.

The fact the Canes have been rated as favourites to take out the title all year makes me think those people haven't been watching very closely. We've been hot and cold all year and our pack has been exposed a number of times, only bailed out by some great tries through the backs.

Sader pack had the most points to prove after a rough couple of weeks, and with the worlds best water boy keeping an eye on proceedings they were always going to pull one out of the top drawer.
Did I mention that B Hall loolks a million bucks behind that pack? Also big ups to Strange, who is finding his feet at this level.

@no-quarter Not once you violent bastards knocked out Crotty and Whitelock in about the first 10 minutes. 🙂

We wouldn't have had any of Moody, Franks, Read or Dagg - or the still to be unleashed Will Jordan.

Yeah the Canes are really bad at high tackles, they got pinged for a few last night too 😏

Talked to Jason Ryan at the Sydenham game today. He said the forwards were really fired up to go and prove a point especially over Shields and Savea. And that Quentin Strange was going to be a future star.

Shields and Savea? What is the story there?

Indeed. This game was almost a carbon copy of the game last year. Can't recall if it was as wet last year, but the Crusaders pack absolutely raped their opposites.

The Stormers did the same but luckily some of their backs couldn't tackle.

A timely reminder, just before the French Series, that forwards win you rugby games, and especially so during the month of June in New Zealand

    I'm guessing:

    1. Shields has been getting publicity. In Cantab land that makes him a show pony. Especially if they don't rate him.
    2. Savea because Matt Todd.

@pukunui Shirley it's not just those two. Jordie over George, Skudder over Havili, TJ over Hall, Laumape over Bateman, Fiftia over Samu. It's bullshit. When will the All Black coaches wake up and pick an all Crusaders team again. I guess the real slap in the face was picking JTA over that reserve prop from Sydneyham.

Best moment of the night was Ihaia West’s ridiculous clearing kick that didn’t even make it out of the in goal. The whole crowd laughed so hard

You're a cruel and ruthless bunch down in them there parts

@mn5 I was at Eden Park for the 2003 final, Caleb Ralph had the dropsies and Marshall was on the field. There is no moral highground.

Seems one wet weather master class vs an inept canes team has made all the scribes give the Saders the title already. Memories of goldfish those lot. I'm not saying Saders aren't looking good but the Shit NZ Rugby Scribes poll is there for a reason

Lam looked like the Lam prior to the Canes. Too cool for school. Not a good look the last couple of weeks.

JTA was really good I thought.

Laumape started off all guns blazing then went quiet.

Ardie some nice show pony runs but not much else.

Jordie way better in the centres than fullback.

@mn5 Um Ihaia West was FAAAR worse.

And while you mention it Ralph's 76th minute try after 3 over the line had been denied by the ref put us back in it, but hometown refereeing etc...

Checkout Hammett's 2 tries in the first half.
