Weekend dumps are one of life's great pleasures. Great knowing you're not under any time constraints.

My 9:30AM dump at work is MY time. Unless I've got a meeting at 10 I'm not rushing shit. Literally.

Work dumps for me are dependant on how much black coffee I have

@mn5 yeah I've modified my coffee habits a little so the effect will be interesting. Previously I'd make a cup at home for breakfast, on the machine, then have another one at work at 9ish. Could time the shitter down to the minute.

I have no sugar except for whatever is in the milk and the limited amount of chocolate on the cappucino at work.

At the moment my metabolism looks to be flying. Even with eating changes, 3.2kg in 2 weeks is pretty fucking good.

Thinking I might find either a pilates or yoga class in the area in order to help with core and flexibility.

She says I have gotten better, more flexible and mobile and I know this is 100% true cos she's more than happy to tell me if I'm useless at other things.

But seriously, can't recommend Pilates highly enough. There is a reason top athletes swear by it to compliment other training they do.

@mn5 Local studio here wants $90 just for the "initial consultation" 😮

Will search a bit wider but that seems a bit fucking rich. They have all this equipment, when last time I did pilates it was just a mat on the floor and my own fat arse.

The equipment will be reformers. They are awesome. Great at helping those little stabilising muscles work hard. Getting those good helps benefit anyone no matter how fit they are. Old mate MN5 had a great day at my oldest boys birthday party today making sure I won the Nerf gun fight scaling the walls, doing commando rolls and shooting their stepdad lots hahaha ( he's an awesome bloke but still, competitive dad had to win 🙂 )

It's hard to explain but I can put a lot of it down to regular sessions. Aches and pains are a thing of the past.

Gotta say these meds are fucking with my sleep big time - common side effects of both the cholesterol drug and beta blockers is insomnia apparently, so that wrecks.

Had a nap on the couch yesterday but only for an hour. Still get tired at 10:30PM, fall asleep before 11PM, but wake up at 4AM. Tried to doze through but staring at the ceiling from about 5:20AM.

These things better fucking work, because I want off them ASAP. The beta blockers also don't help with the erectile stuff so hopefully I can dispose of them and get a backlash effect 😉

In any case, took advantage of being awake at 6AM, running 2km in 12:50 and walking 2km in 18:20.

Days like this I need the morning coffee at breakfast to get going. Still feel like shit right now tho.

I use a product called Refuge for sleep assistance. Its farken magic. I dont get as much sleep as I probably should so use this to make the most of the sleep I do get. I dont use it every night either but probably every other night. Amazing deep sleeps and the most vivid dreams ever

I try and avoid any of that sort of stuff personally but I'm sure I speak for all of us of a similar age that sleeping absolutely rocks. It shits me that the other half is still in a warm bed when I leave each morning but the flipside is I'm home relaxing before her I guess.

Much harder to function properly after a shit sleep this side of 40.

Run this morning: 3km in 18:15 so getting closer to the first goal of maxing out at 6 minute / km.

Might need to increase distance to get some longer burn in the lungs and legs, but overall it's progress, despite only 5-6 hours of broken sleep.

Flag the longer runs. Go and do some 300-400m repeats that will give you some legs and recovery and a bit of kick. Don't start with shorter distance sprints aim for mid-distance high intensity. If you are running 6min+ sprinting will be overload and you will get a achilles tendon issue.

Went back to the GP tonight to get the blood test results from last week.

My "bad" cholesterol (LDL) is reading 5.0 when it should be under 2.5 so that's not great for circulation or potential artery clogging.

HDL ("good" cholesterol) is just on the good side of the preferred marker.

Other than that, no indicators of further disease in any organs, diabetes, or signs of immediate heart issues based on the tests conducted.

Eating will definitely need to improve, but I reckon by Winter's end I can get back under 100kg fairly easily with diet and moderate exercise.

Did my ab exercises tonight - 10 cat vomits. It fucking hurts just lying down typing this now.

Did my ab exercises tonight - 10 cat vomits. It fucking hurts just lying down typing this now.

Hey sorry got sick of scrolling up because im lazy. If you have a look into it there are actually 2 sub types of LDL one is good one is bad. Most Gp's have no idea about this. You have to request special testing. My GF and I went Keto a few years ago and got blood work done. Her HDL stayed the same LDL went up doctor said ' cut out fats' she said 'get fucked and give me a test to break down my LDL' .

Test showed good LDL had gone up bad LDL was really low. Doctor then said ' decrease your fats because ummmm....'

What are you on the beta blockers and cholestorol meds for?

This is somewhat interesting depending on your background knowledge https://www.sbs.com.au/ondemand/program/insight the two episodes on exercise.

Exercise (weights or cardio) vs diet vs meds for diabetes not much difference apart from diet +exercise can reverse it (judging by the beta blockers its probably not diabetes).

@magpie_in_aus so something like 400m at top pace with a one minute break?

Went back to the GP tonight to get the blood test results from last week.

My "bad" cholesterol (LDL) is reading 5.0 when it should be under 2.5 so that's not great for circulation or potential artery clogging.

HDL ("good" cholesterol) is just on the good side of the preferred marker.

Other than that, no indicators of further disease in any organs, diabetes, or signs of immediate heart issues based on the tests conducted.

Eating will definitely need to improve, but I reckon by Winter's end I can get back under 100kg fairly easily with diet and moderate exercise.

For the arterial blockage. Yes it's aggressive but I'm sticking with it until September when I plan to do another round of blood tests and prove I don't need either.
