Run was cut short this morning after sleeping in a little - 3km in 17:14.
Did you stop for a meal along the way?
That's cruel.
Funny, but cruel. -

Funny, but cruel.A mate of mine who is a former running champ said the exact same to me when I told him my impressive ( for me ) time.
It upset me so much I haven't been for a run since.

Great for strength training, safety issues aside

Protein cones?
Anyway, Pilates last night and really pushed through. Feeling so much better after tho the back is a bit sore today.
Did some walking today - covering about 3km in a couple of sessions (one lunch, one evening) and then home tonight for more body weight:
2 x proper form chinups
5 x proper form pushups
60s rest
5 sets of that.I varied the pushups from tricep emphasis (elbows back) to elbows out, wide hands, diamond, and then elbows back.
The last set of pushups were a bit of a challenge actually, as the wide hands followed by diamond really tested the shoulders. Don't think I'm entirely over getting dumped on my left shoulder a few months back during a rugby match.

It's actually pretty cool. I've started taking him running with me once a week. He does well, but i push him pretty hard. It's teaching me to be comfortable running a bit slower as well. He did 7km on Wednesday night (while my 7 year old buzzed around us on a scooter)

PRO TIP: when eating the ice cream it's best to come to a complete halt. Trying to run and eat the ice cream at the same time can be tricky.
the first time i did a proper, organised run, with water stations, i realised i can't drink from a cup and run without drowning myself. spastic!

Good stuff!! Years ago I did a 10km run in wellington and for about half of it was paced by a 8-10 year old who had farking springs in his shoes. It was like an rhino (me obs) slamming along next to a bloody gazelle! He was in the Harriers running club so I only felt a wee bit bitter.
Luckily he upped his pace and I settled in behind a nice peach
#disclaimer - said peach was on a hot wahine, not a young man trying to run away from me!!

On a totally different tangent. Watched a vid on things to avoid doing in Japan - one of them was don't walk and eat/drink. You can stop wherever to eat or drink, but don't do it on the move. Not sure if safety based or ?? but it was the first thing I thought of after the obligatory Eddie Murphy ice-cream skit
