    Yep, apps deleted. Happily taken.

New gf is an exercise physiologist, who teaches pump, step etc classes in her spare time. Absolutely smitten. Met her fairly early in the piece but was wary of getting too involved. Can't help it now. She's just brilliant and terrific with my boys as well, which is of course of vital importance. Things are snowballing like a farging avalanche.

So sorry @MN5 my dickpick days appear over before they even started.

Swimming this evening. Struggled like a mofo but felt better as it went on. That is some intense shit. Did a 20 minute run beforehand but I don't think that was advisable. Not enough fluids. Will have to prepare better. But felt absolutely terrific after I'd gotten home and had plenty to drink. Really into this now 👍

    5 days. Fark.
So following swimming was chest and biceps on Thursday and back and tris on Friday. All good. Was going to do morning swimming on Saturday (5:45 - rude) but gf was over and that was never going to happen. Tbh I'm not keen on showing her my "skills" in the water. She was a rep swimmer and could most likely destroy me at half pace.

So no swimming but great run on Sunday before a massive thunder storm hit.

Today: Swimming at 6 this morning. Felt great. Morning much more agreeable. Have to get a proper pair of flippers though.

Will go leg session this evening.

So I think it's pretty much pencilled in going forward:
    Monday: Swimming am. Legs pm
    Tuesday: Shoulders
Wednesday: Interval run am. Swimming PM.
    Thursday: Chest and biceps.
Friday: Possibly am swimming. Definitely am or pm back and triceps.
    Saturday: Possibly am swimming.
    Sunday: Long run.

I joined TSF in 2004. My 25 year old self would have fainted seeing that. Better late that never I guess.

Thursday already! Been a cnut of a week work wise and weekend will be gone. But have still trained ok. Managed legs on Monday night then shoulders Tuesday and swimming again last night. That swimming session was an utter bitch. Some serious farking volume work that fooked me. Again felt great afterwards but was an allmightly goddam struggle.
Chest and biceps this morning. Tired but absolutely smashed it.

    11 days! Christ I'm slack.

Last week was pretty shit. Worked 12-16 hours Friday to Monday. No training on weekend or Monday. Managed OK Tuesday, but Wednesday swimming fooked me up:

    100m 75% effort
    4x25 max effort 30sec break
    200m 75%
    6x25 max effort 30sec break
    200m x 75%
    8x25 max effort 30sec break
    200m 75%
    10x25 max effort 30sec break
    Get tired just reading that!

That rubbed out Thursday and Friday was a bit rushed. Got in a Saturday session which was OK but Sunday was spent in car.

Swimming this morning. Not as bad as Wednesday but bad enough. Good way to start the day though!

End of week. Has flown by!

    So bit eventful.
Hit the shoulders on Tuesday and after finishing shrugs on the smith machine (please do not judge me) a weight landed on my neck. Some dickhead hadn't racked the weight property and it landed on my as I was racking 20kg on the 3rd rung below. Luckily it was only 2.5kg and hit the side of my neck. Still farking hurt like hell and was a real shock. Had it checked out by doc so all good. Was expecting more pain the next day but has been fine. Helps to have a neck like a lion!!! Or that is was just a very light weight....

Anyway, been very busy again but managed another session of gut busting swimming on Wednesday. That shit doesn't get any easier. I between the 200m to start and end was:

    4x25m Max effort (30sec rest)
    2x50m Max effort
    100m Max effort
    2x50m Max effort
    4x25m Max effort

    Times farking 2.

Sadistic bastard. But feels great afterwards.

    Thursday: Chest and biceps. Mint
    Friday: Back and triceps. Mint.

So ok week, but didn't get legs in or run. Will have to rectify that on the weekend. Helps I have a running and training partner as well 😁.

I'd show you some sympathy but it's very hard to with someone who uses machines.

Pays to be careful though, MN5 jr the elder was playing in the garage and one of my 20kg weights slid and actually broke his arm ( he was 4 at the time ), thank fuck it slid as opposed to actually fall directly on him. He can't decide who is more to blame, Dad for leaving the weights in a precarious position or Mum for unwittingly letting him out there on his own ( it was under her watch, I was at work )

To be fair it could just as easily have happed at the squat rack. Seriously, how hard is it to just rack a weight? Full disclosure, I also use the SM for bench press. I understand if you wish to unfriend me....

Ouch poor little bugger. I blame the wife. He shouldn't have been there. Is this why you only use ropes and shit now?

Ha, no that's more about convenience to be honest and the fact I enjoy it more and I genuinely think I'm stronger, fitter and more flexible now than I was then. Each to their own but I am a massive calisthenics fan now.

Damn straight. At the moment I'm perfecting my back bridges and Elbow levers ( google those moves ). Both tough initially but in one sense it's as much a skill as it is about strength. I fully intend to post a wanky FB profile pic when I can do them brilliantly so stay tuned haha

Saturday: GF has a class every second Saturday so went to her gym. Definitely much more packed than my local YMCA and with clientele about 30-40 years younger on average. Hate a packed gym, but the advantage is that you don't often fark around. Absolutely hammered the legs while gf was getting an auditorium to jump or whatever. Not to blow my own trumpet but I can't believe I'm together with one of those chicks. Holy shit that is cool. Anyway, no fan of the gym but great leg workout.

We then went to this swimming pool place with a whirlpool that just goes round and round. It is amazingly addictive. All it does it pull you round, but it's rather relaxing. Did that for bloody ages.

Legs killing me on Sunday, but still managed a long walk.

Swimming this morning. Not nearly as bad as the other weeks, but still tough. I think I'm getting used to it and my technique/breathing is much better. Great way to kick off the week.

Good mate. Although eldest got into another fight. This time over a girl 🤦‍♂️. Avoided suspension thank God. He's a good lad, but is a very slow learner. Definitely no filter between his brain and mouth.

    Youngest is awesome as usual.

Both love the gf and she adores them. In fact, they'll hug her and walk past me. Yesterday, the eldest remarked how nice and tidy it was at gf's place and how untidy it was at ours. Had to be restrained from killing him. He's 90% of the reason the place doesn't look clean. But she's introducing good habits and they are anxious to please. It's funny how a woman can change the entire dynamic. Future looking pretty bright at the moment. Think I've had that bit of luck I desperately needed. Touch wood.

    Where are we... Wednesday.

Tuesday was shoulders. Avoided falling weights this time and went well. Shoulders generally a good day.

Wednesday: first run for a while (slack) but went OK. Usual 10 laps with pullups and leg raises inbetween. Will be interesting to see how the swimming goes tonight.

Swimming last night. Wasn't an utter cnut this time so must be getting a bit used to it. Absolutely smashed the spag bol afterwards.

Today: Chest and biceps. Not rushed this time, so nailed it. Very good workout.

    Catch up as usual.

Felt I got the balance right this week and might do it this way going forward. That includes the eating as well. Bit difficult to know when to hit the weights, when to do cardio and when and what to eat. Been feeling really fatigued and weak heading into Friday and that's never good.

Anyway, ran on Friday instead of doing weights and then smashed the weights on Saturday. Felt great because the body had been given a little break from the tin and on Saturday was desperate to gets my pump on. Ate well, but was still pretty active with housework on Sunday and then swimming went really well this morning.

Going to try and replicate this and see how I go. Ultimately it just means more carbs and switching a day around. Sometimes a bit of tweaking is all that's required.

@rancid-schnitzel can be good to swap around weights session depending on energy levels. I do that a bit with legs, if I've had a mad day or am still fatigued etc I often move it back a day. Sometimes that extra days recovery makes a big difference.
