@Canes4life if by bullet you mean easily avoided by anyone who's not a tetraplegic then yeah... ๐Ÿค”

It was good but it was made to look better by how many of the Hurricanes passes were loopy and behind the player.

@Kirwan On reflection, he did well considering the pressure on him, but I still think he could do better :face_with_stuck-out_tongue_closed_eyes:

Damn the Canes made that hard work.

I'm a bit surprised reading through the thread to see Judd getting a bit of love. Aside from his nice chip through and his covering when the Canes were in trouble after a Stormers kick through I thought his play was pretty average, average pass, below average at being tidy behind the ruck. I actually thought Christie looked better when he came on and he's a full blown ginga.

Beaudy went a bit Solomone Kata for his try at the end, he took it well so can't complain about the result, but I'd rather he passed to the numbers out wide.

The worst thing about Blackwell is that he's not even dynamic at anything, not with the ball in hand, not as a link man, not in defence, not when hitting rucks ... I don't see what he offers as a loose forward let alone as a midget lock.

Any of you caarnts still don't think Jordie is a 12? Clearly he's far more comfortable there. The dilemma now is what the fug to do about Laumape...

          Me.
Great with ball in hand and running lines. Medium length pass way too slow and loopy for distribution needs at international level.
He may be more comfortable there but at the top level I agree with the assessment of the AB coaches. Those skills work better at the back (except when attempting quick throw ins ๐Ÿ˜‰ ). Needs to sharpen his passing game to be considered.

Well knock me down with a feather. I'm sure you applied the same standards to SBW when he burst onto the scene. Or probably not. His pass was fine today. Just needs more time at 12. Tiatia is a natural fullback. Jordie isn't.

Go and watch the first half again and watch how many laboured loopy passes he threw. If he got better then fair enough, but he was stand out horrid to start.

I don't think i've seen SBW throw a loopy pass ever.

Stormers by 10-15. This Hurricanes pack will be destroyed, particularly in the static phases. I can't see it counter the Stormers forwards in the rolling mauls either.

I thought his passing was a bit ropey at times. And when I say "at times" I got the impression it was far too often. Not my preferred 12 for the Canes, and somewhere below 6th in line, probably lower, at national level.

@Nepia and yet when Judd came on in earlier games to replace Christie he looked better. We really don't have anyone decent after TJ, and BB def looks off with lesser halfbacks. But that'd be the case for most players.

@Canes4life that wouldn't be a bad idea. But with the state of our forward pack I'd hope we can get a really good defensive halfback, as well as passing/kicking etc. I only want the world ha ha.

There is a reason why TJ is so bloody good on D and acting as a 4th loosie - he's had to given the state of our forwards over the years.

@Paekakboyz yeah TJ is a big reason why we can cope even when out forwards are going backwards. Drummond seems to have a good skillset and he wouldn't be a bad backup considering the other options around New Zealand atm.

You were probably too busy looking somewhere else.

Any of you caarnts still don't think Jordie is a 12? Clearly he's far more comfortable there. The dilemma now is what the fug to do about Laumape...

I'm happy for you to prove me wrong. I just don't think that among all the masses of criticism SBW has copped over the years I have noticed a theme of poor passing.
Perhaps, if you are going to come up with a smart comment, back it up with fact instead of another smart comment?

Goosen had another good game. Unsure why he got criticism early on but he's a good player.

I'm also unsure why Plumtree likes Blackwell so much. I watched him closely in the NPC last year and even at this level as a lock I was unimpressed. Even at 6 he's fairly ordinary. Maybe I'm missing something. But my view is he will cost us any chance of winning this competition.

@Winger he's a hard worker but he isn't big enough to be effective. On One News last night Geoff Cridge was running around again so hopefully we will see him in action soon and I'm crying out for Walker-Leawere to get a start as I think he will be the big man we need moving forward in the campaign.

Cridge will likely last for 5 minutes if he returns before another injury. He's sadly a bit like Fidow. Just too injury prone

                                          Agree on Isaia Walker-Leawere,
