@canefan funny that out of all players to miss, I felt we really missed May at scrum time tonight. Man JTA is such a fluffy bunny. He's the biggest weakness in this Canes side IMO. How he became an All Black will forever be one of lifes mysteries.

Aumua and IWL showed plenty of promise but they still have a fair bit of maturing to do.

    We need Coles back asap.

"showed plenty of promise" doesn't always win you games. Neither does it always translate into a polished finished product.

@Higgins yeah but they are young so obviously still not the finished product. I'm liking what i'm seeing from those two and if you add in the fact that Numia has probably been one of our better scrum operators at the raw age of 20 means that we have plenty of talent coming through.

Toomaga Allen was a massive weakness for us and the sooner he heads overseas the better IMO.

@Canes4life I don't Rate Eves either May is mid 30's now so you need to contract a decent TH for next Season.
Amua,Smith,Fidow are up to it but you need more than 3 adequate props in a squad now .
Crusaders may have the same problem coming need a TH.So any young TH or Overseas Prop may have SR contract options for next Season.

@Chris Yeah Eves and Toomaga Allen need to go. The trio of Numia, Aumua and Fidow are the future but they are still young. Add in the injured Tim Farrell from Hawkes Bay and there is a good young squad developing, however to compete upfront now we need good, experienced props - Plumtree should be on the hunt now, instead of waiting for the off-season to come around.

I made a list of young props in the Hurricanes 2019 thread.

Edited to add that Farrell isn't injured anymore; he's been playing club rugby in the Bay.

Cullen's just ok as a comm. Too modest for my liking. FFS, I'd tune in just to hear him yakk on about his playing days. At GREAT length. "Yeah, he's under his own sticks there, that's when you throw an outrageous dummy, hit the gas, ghost past a few, chuck in another dummy, go up through the gears, imperceptible body swerve or two, in top gear now, throw in another huge dummy, then hit turbo thrust to leave them in the dust, dot down under the sticks at the other end to cap off the 105 metre solo try. Or you could just kick it out."

It was only about 95 metres. Not 105 like old mate RRB claimed.

@Rocky-Rockbottom Lomu would be good too.

"Try and gas them on the outside. If that doesn't work, just stampede right the fuck over them. Easy. Here, now you try"

@MN5 He was a real weapon probably the most balanced runner I have seen one of the few who could step at pace while not losing any pace.
    A Freak player.

Maybe Will Jordan is a bit similar.

Cullen was such a legend, they could have him drooling into the microphone for all I care. The first guy I would have gone gay for.

I remember him doing a bit of halftime analysis during the 2015 WC. He looked like he’d spent the night in a dumpster all unshaven with a badly fitted suit and half asleep.

But yeah, still a god amongst Rugby players.

Took my three year old daughter (first game) to this game and it was a heap of fun. Kids add such a different experience to it.

Was a real strong northerly for the whole game so it was no surprise that it was a game of two halves. Also the fact that this Canes team isn't that much better than the Rebels.

Ardie really stands head and shoulders above the rest of the forward pack. Most things he does at the moment are of high quality and his timing of picking moments has come along way from the raw player he was a few years back.

And in saying that, id still pick an in form Cane over him for knockout rugby.
