Those Jordie Barrett fans still pumping for him to cover 10 in the ABs?

When SBW did that in goal ball kill he at least had an excuse that his league playing instinct took over. Despite that he was pilloried for it. JB has no such excuse except being a dumb ass.
As the ref said 'you took the risk'. He would have been far better making a legal attempt and hoping the Jags player didn't make it.

Congratulations to the Jaguares, clever tactics to target the Hurricanes where they are weakest: up front.

Jordie Barrett and TJP flapped around under pressure in this game when cool, calm heads were needed. Vaea Fifita is a bigger cause for concern IMHO. When the going gets tough, he gets lazy.

The Canes looked pretty good in the first 60 seconds.

I do enjoy watching the Jaguares backs when they are in full flight

Aumua is the classic example of the kid who was bigger and stronger than everyone growing up so neglected working on basic skills and fitness.

    A bit like Akira??? 😏

Geez I hope Ben Smith is fit for the WC after Jordies mare tonight would worry me in a tight contest

It’s arguable that Barrett is the best fullback in the ABs setup. His first name isn’t Jordie however.

Ben Smith is our best right wing

    Best 14 & 15

The coaches seems to like having a fullback-ish winger. Jordies shocker really helps a winger like Bridge

Only saw the last 20 and it was ugly. We really don't have much of a team this year and you only have to remove BB or Savea and it all goes to poo.

Bridge could surprise and be our 2019 Skudder

Following Graham Henry's breakdown by positions (I think he is right) there's only room for four back three players in the World Cup squad. Fitness permitting, two of them will be Ben Smith and Rieko Ioane. I think they've then got to add another fullback and another wing (probably someone who can play on the right).

Jordie should be in the box seat as the fullback, but they should be keeping an eye on David Havili who is playing very well. Just maybe Nanai.

In the conversation for the wing spot - primarily Naholo vs Bridge, I think - but, they'd probably also have kept an eye on some or all of Reece, Jordan, Ennor, Goosen and maybe Lam.

Having picked the four, the question is then whether Smith plays fullback or right wing.

Scott is probably a better FB than Jordie

    I know it’s the rules...but...
I don’t get why you can knock it back in the general field of play but as soon as you are in goal it’s suddenly illegal?

I know @Nepia and @Kirwan has replied but just to add a wee bit more explanation you can knock the ball back (or down 🙂 ) anywhere, including in goal. You just can't deliberately throw or knock the ball dead or into touch with your hands.
