Awful game..Samoa have dropped their standards.,both yellow cards I have no issue with in fact I would have not had an issue if Motu Matu’u had been red carded ..

I agree, well off his feet and flying in.

@voodoo Still picking Samoa to win this game, but I just don’t want hear there was sort of conspiracy against Pacific Island team by an official

Russia really only have 4 or 5 decent players on the park - 6, 7, 9, 11 and 15 - so it’s a struggle when they have possession and try to move it wide and these guys aren’t involved.

Lots of dropped ball and poor execution from both sides.

@Steven-Harris I also think they'll win, and probably comfortably. But they should be doing it with 14 men!

ITV studio - Maggie Alfonsi, Michael Lynagh, Gareth Thomas, Martyn Bayfield - all saying both should have been red.

Their reasoning, even if the ball carrier had dipped slightly the responsibility is on the tackler to dip more.

Looking back at the replays Lilo knew he was fucked and Matu'u was fucked.

@Steven-Harris I'm already reading on Twitter that if Samoa had played NZL, Wales, England etc,, Samoa would have copped two red cards. Because it's "only" Russia, it's two yellows.

Still conspiracy theories, just not against the Pacific Islands, but against another tier 2 country.

The ball is likely very slippery in humid conditions.

@ACT-Crusader Fidow looks average to me. Leaupepe is a solid lock.

Can someone explain what looked wrong with that turnover?

Lying down tucked up in bed when he got the ball back

I thought he legitimately had hands on the ball before leaving his feet.

Me too but wasn't quick enough to get the ball back before hitting the deck

I can accept that argument, although I tend to ref (and play) that if you've won rights to the ball on your feet, I don't mind you losing balance placing the ball back. The alternative is coming back for a penalty rather than letting the game flow.

Agreed. But they seem to be favouring the ball carrier not the stealer in this WC

Players have a split second to react so it's not that simple.

But I am looking forward to them saying Farrell should be sent off for one of his tackles.

Samoa missing Jack Lam. Their defence is very passive against an extremely limited Russian outfit.

Haha, Aussies on social media are saying that now that these Samoan players only got yellow, the standard has been set and Hodge will get off.

Great passage of play and the try scorer pulls his hammy in the process.

No issue with that card either - clear PT if it wasn't scored. Pity another player is invalided because of foul play.

Tusi Pisi is a horrendous goalkicker. Should have taken Leuila over as he can bang goals over at the very least.

Agree. TNW is the lone class player on the park.

Showed it then with how he could break out of a tackle and then provide good quick ball after being tackled. Set up the try.
