Makes a mockery of the competition. Why should England and France face one game fewer than other sides?
Because sport is just sport, whereas the wellbeing of fans, officials, players etc is more important? It's not like they didn't have contingency plans, but this is an unseasonably powerful storm, and no plan survives contact with the enemy.

everyone's got a plan until they get a Typhoon in the face

A scoreless draw is a bit unimaginative. It is England afterall, surely it should be scored a three all draw as they would certainly have kicked a penalty or a droppie somewhere along the way!
@Higgins don't worry, England will still do a few victory laps

-
It saves Eddie from bringing the game in to disrepute and fielding a B team to throw the match and play Wales not Australia in the QF

You do know that the trains don't run while there's a typhoon belting the place?
Yes.
The typhoon doesn't hit the Tokyo-area until Saturday so plenty of time to get on a high-speed train if there were 100 or so spaces available for the English and French players, their coaches and support staff.
They should just call the whole damn thing off, such the mockery of a game not being played.
Outrageous!!
If England or France win the cup, it will always be remembered as the "pretend cup" because they missed one game. A travesty!!

There you go, fixed.

Likewise the ABs will still find a way to cynically cheat in their cancelled game v Italy
