Since there doesn't appear to be a separate thread for this game, I thought I'd start one. Even if @MiketheSnow and I will constitute a posting majority on here that would be the envy of most parliaments world-wide these days.

So let me kick it off with some of SA's challenges for this weekend:

GARCES - the man-with-no-love-for-the-Bokke who will control (or not) affairs on the day...

To date, Garces has only reffed one game involving Wales and SA. Wales won. No biggie on it's own.
But factor in that stretching back to 2013 the Boks have won only 4 of 14 games (29%) where the French Mr Bean had the whistle and you can understand that Bok fans are not thrilled. Add in the fact that Garces was the conductor at both the Miracle in Brighton and again when SA lost to Italy for the first time ever in their history and it is not hard to understand why us biltong lovers are reaching for our tin-foil hats.

Could be that we were just shite on the day.... but let's not let that inconvenient fact get in the way of a good story.

If we lose on Sunday Garces is bound to be part of the moaning conversation.

It couldn't possibly be our game plan or skills that weren't up to scratch..

I can't believe that the 'stuff' power meter thing has Whales as the favourites!

In a "you bet your life scenario" I would have my money on the Boers everytime!

It depends on the calibre of their opponents. I mean if most of them were countries like NZ, Japan, Italy, and other Rugby Championship teams that beat them regularly then it is not that surprising, even allowing for Garces' exentricities.

It would be interesting to see Faeces stats with SH v NH teams overall.
I suspect his β€œFrench style” doesn’t gel with SH play. He tends to look flustered when the pace is fast

I've changed my opinion on this game. Wales are missing a couple of their better players. Not ideal at this time of the tournament.

Old bandy legs is a hell of a player, Halfpenny isn't a patch on him.

Going this deep into the tournament and only being without Navidi and Liam Williams is pretty remarkable.

Their replacements - Moriarty and Halfpenny respectively - will do a job for us.

                  On a knife edge.

Yep he's gone. There are not many times you can say we will sorely miss a bandy legged rugby player, but this is one of them. Things have just got tougher.

                            "Everything happens for a reason.

Halfpenny in and his three penalties along with tries from North and Adams help us comfortably beat SA who are too one-dimensional without Kolbe.

Then, in the World Cup Final against England, Halfpenny has a 50m kick in the last minute to win it. He wants it. He’s a nice guy. He deserves it. So does Alun Wyn. So does Gatland. So does Warburton. It creeps over the bar and Wales are world champions. Circle complete."

And as important for us as Crotty is/has been for you.

Crotty's not even on the bench πŸ˜›

Hence the 'has' you chose to miss.

So @MiketheSnow ... how are you feeling for this game now that the team has been announced?

My feeling is that if the Boks play well, we take it. I am putting my proverbial on the block right there πŸ˜‰

My biggest annoyance is that this game is on Sunday, not Saturday. I would have enjoyed the AB v Eng semi much more having our own done and dusted already...

Wales have had success versus SA in recent times. But they will have to throw caution to the wind and play to win. A similar display to that in the QF and the boks should do it easy

You're in the 'Bok' seat πŸ˜‰

Player for player there's not much in it in terms of ability and experience.

Collectively you have a better unit to control a match by physical means and win by submission.

Collectively we have a better unit to thwart and frustrate a team and win by submission.

As in all things this WC, the result will come down to

taking points when they're available - both teams waste great opportunities
                                          injuries received during the match
                                          YC and/or RC dished out

Whoever wins will be knackered, broken or both.
