    @Higgins Unfortunately not.

    The publican's wife burned it to the ground about 30 years ago. I think due to his extra-marital meanderings.

    @Higgins You are indeed a little out of date there. Fire was 1994.

    Last time I went past (around 20 years ago) there were still burnt remnants though.

    I can recall some of the same in the very near vicinity of the Rat Trap coming back from a Blues v Takaka club game about 1988. Although in this particular instance neither the publican nor his missus was involved. Come to think of it the Blues Senior Reserve team had a win on the field that day too!

    Going back to tonight's game that I will be heading to shortly - it's very windy in the Bay at the moment - easing tonight but should still be a south-west breeze for the game.

    Narawa

    What's the view on Narawa at fullback? Good enough for Super Rugby?

    @Tim

    Couldn’t judge him last week, he wasn’t really tested as a fullback. He carved up like he has all year on the wing though

    The big question is - does this count towards the Battle of the Bays? Or like the Ranfurly Shield, is it only up for grabs in regular season games?

    Well Nathan Harris thinks it counts. He just said that on the tv coverage

    My view was also not popular but I agree Bayburn Shield (like Braeburn shield) always up for it

    At least Hawkes supporters don’t try hijack other threads like those south central Vikings fans

    Good luck everyone and may the best bay win!

    @bayimports I shook Alex Ainley's hand the day we made it into the Premiership.

    You guys might be able to as well! 🙂

    That tackle that somehow prevented the try was over the top of the shoulders. Thought you weren't allowed to tackle that high.

    One look at that by the TMO, the Magpies fan in me thinks he should have at least checked three times.

    Dumb play by the black 15. He should have picked up that ball with one foot over the deadball line thus getting a ruling the kick from the blue 10 went dead, scrum back on the home side ten yard mark?

    Why no yellow car against the yellow nine for carrying on play after the whistle thus denying HB the chance of taking a quick tap penalty. Fantastic touch finder by Tiaan Falcon (x2)
