No unbeaten team in the tournament is a reflection of how close it was this time around. Been a fantastic World Cup.
SA got some luck in the draw that allowed them some easier lead up knockout games (no slight, that's tournament sport). They used all of the powder they were able to keep dry tonight, and were far too good
England had a far easier ride up to the NZ match
Reinforces the idea that it's very hard to string 2 or 3 top performances together versus quality opposition
Or they read their own press and were underdone

As with most countries, the real rugby people are wonderful. Sadly, it’s the bandwagon jumpers, bringing their petty footballing fan culture, that ruin it for everyone. England, quite naturally given the size of their population just tend to have more than most

He’s done a 2003 all over again - I honestly think that he’s gambled on winning this tournament by knocking out the ABs and then relying on talent alone to get him to that point and onwards

England made the final despite having the toughest draw of the major teams.
Sky is the limit for guys like Itoje, Underhill, Curry, Sinkler and Ford. All excellent players. All will be there in 2023.
I'd ditch Farrell as captain and give the gig to Itoje. He's developing into an outstanding player.
