I doubt it. The stand down thing applies when they get a complete rest from a match week. No training, no planning attendance etc

Gone are the days of giants in the pack like Retallick, Bird and Taleni Seu - we are playing loose forwards in the second row and a 7 at 8. I know it's injury enforced but that will be one of our shorter sides in a while.

aw did we? I genuinely didn't remember that, just had memories of being carved up by DMac at Eden Park last year.

Edit: Goddaamn! 18 May we won against them after losing 33-29 earlier in the season. THE STREAK IS OVER

@nzzp Jesus mate, better try to draw a clock (dementia test). DMac blew out his knee in Hamilton a month earlier. He didn't play on Eden Park.

That video is a good reminder as to how overrated the Chiefs forwards are outside of Cane and the frontrow.

Akira not in the 23 is huge though, but maybe he just hasnt been ticking the boxes?

I think Papali'i fits the wide role better than Robinson.

Not sure if Robinson has packed on any weight, but in some photos he looks like he's bigger. He might be more equipped to handle lock duties this season.

Mind you, these guys are simply playing to (or should be) the role they have been assigned in the game plan.

Chiefs are playing three openside flankers. They may be expecting a particularly open game, given how early in the year it is. Robinson at lock may be inline with that expectation.

Even if Papali'i is playing a wider role on attack, he still gets a good amount of work done in the tight.
