Hurricanes v Chiefs

Oh this thread is juicy. I'll add to it and say I wouldn't pick any Chiefs in a combined Hurricanes-Chiefs team.
Bring it on bitches.

It is also all well and good to say your back 3 isn’t the reason you are losing. But with the margins in some of the games this year, if the back 3 was better and created/ finished off a few more scoring opportunities then the win:loss ratio could look a lot different.
Will be interesting to see how Naholo goes. Im not sure Alaimalo, Stevenson or Wainui are ever going to be much more than solid.
I seem to recall some on here mentioning Alaimalo as a future AB possibly after last years NPC. Not to make it last year but for the future. I don’t mind his game and he’s got some wheels, but he would have a few works on.
I don't remember Alaimalo in last years NPC, but a couple of years ago he was awesome in Super rugby, if it was a RWC he probably would have been whisked into the ABs.
@Nepia it was after he left Northland and got involved with those Makos he went downhill!

Two things i just noticed:
No Cruden, so i guess last week was his last game for the Chiefs. No Julian Savea. The race is still on to see which out of him and NMS was the more pointless signing. Could add Carter to that too but it sounds like he is adding lots off the field.

NMS was signed for next year too, with the expectation that he would play this and next season. Bus has been signed basically as a trial and was never expected to play this game. Bus is trying to train his way into the squad for next year.
Canes coaches, as numpty as they are about locks, have gone in with eyes open to Julien. Not so sure about N Milner-Hammer

Is history being made? Is this the first time the Canes have fielded an all white back 3?
@Dice we won the title with Woodward, Jane & Marshall.

@KiwiMurph he’s actually my second cousin. His Grandad was my Grandmas brother. That’s on the Curry side of the family so he is mostly white.

His Dad's from Wairoa, you can't get any more Māori than that.
Also, you forgot Bro-den Barrett.

The only person I know from Raetihi is a white farmer girl who went to Iona College (girls boarding school in Havelock North).

Canes looking for four wins on the bounce against the Chiefs. 18000 tickets sold already to this match.

@Bones lol what has Wainui done all season apart from look mediocre? McKenzie is trying to make up for what Wainui lacks in attacking ability and it's hurting his All Black chances.
Maybe it's just poor coaching that's holding Wainui and Stevenson back, but it's a worry. The Chiefs have totally lost their deadly attacking flair that they were renowned for during their title run and the few years afterwards.
Gotta agree with @Bones here, chief - the the Canes' wingers are nothing more than the South African versions of George Bridge

I think they believe it's now a roster after Webber got a gig, some bench players and anyone signed for Crusaders.

@mariner4life Not as bad as Chiefs fans sickeningly dribbling over average players.

I'm a possible all black. I'm also a possible romantic partner of Scarlett Johansson.
It's just very very very very unlikely.
