I joined a gym today, from what I can work out, for the first time in about 22 years!!

So as is my way, I start with leg day!!

Didnt push the boat out, but cracked over triple figures for 5 squat reps, felt reasonably heavy but the old legs still had plenty to give I reckon, which is good as my collection of weights at home totals 50kg.

That being said, I expect tomorrow my legs will be saying fuck you old fluffybunny!

      Otherwise, enjoyed it!!

@MN5 no, just burpees, jump squats, squats with a 10kg plate in each hand or 50kg on a skinny ass bar etc.

Bet my legs still look better than yours too 🙂

Na, lunges, plyometrics and calisthenics have my pins looking pretty decent.

              I do hate squats though.

Thought I'd get a session in today before, well, the gym might close..

                Chest, shoulders & quick arms

Working out by myself, did 8 x 70kg flat bench, pretty happy with that given eleventy push ups (@Bones ) every other day has been the extent of my chest work for the last decades...if I can get back with osmeone to spot, might see if I can bench my weight...

@taniwharugby I did the same today. Who knows when things will shut down again. Get the gains while you can.

With bench - are you a close grip or a wide grip man? on the bar I mean... ah, the weights bar. Just to be specific 😉

I was bombarded with your push up form on FB, you can definitely do more than that although if you haven't benched for awhile it can take a bit of time to get the "feel" back if that makes sense.

Failing that just roll the bar onto your chest then down to your stomach, sit up and you'll be fine.

I'm enjoying push ups ( varying widths, Really wide, Diamond etc ) with either a 20kg plate or two on my back. Really good for form as it forces the body to be stable or else the weights fall off. Definitely recommend these.

@MN5 yeah I like push ups, and will probably add them into my workout (although my workouts over the next few weeks likely to only be push ups anyway...)

Went to the gym again today, did some lower back work and then cardio (treadmill & bike)

Liking being at the gym, feel so great after (different to doing a HIIT workout or Circuit at home) hoping we dont end up at L3 which means no gym!

                              legs & arms today.

Managed 6 x 120kg on the squat rack, reckon I could go a bit more still, but social distancing working out doesnt encourage one to push oneself.

Squats, leg curls, leg extensions (single leg) calf raises, bicep curls, hammer curls, tricep push downs.

                                      Today:

Chest press machine, fly machine (or whatever it is called) lat pull downs, seated rows, hyper-extension, finished with some ab work with med ball.

Using the machines a bit to get my motion back and build strength, reckon I'm gonna be sore tomorrow!
