Mataele looks a lot bigger since I last saw him play.

Him and Tikoroitoi are looking to go full Basteraud, maybe?

The upright running style certainly doesnโ€™t help.

I wish the M10 teams got to play all season with their Soup/AB players. How fantastic would that be!!

It will be interesting, in that the ABs will have to take a mega squad to Oz for the RC, so there maybe another 10 more players removed from M10 at the pointy end. That could really effect the finals

Bro. I'm old school. I remember when Wellington last won the NPC/M10. I was in the UK. Our Wellington team with its (few) ABs beat Canterbury with its ABs. You saw what it meant to the players. Forits supporters we watched at 11Am and partied all day and nght.

I like this version of the M10. ABs play with Super Rugby players who play with NPC/M10 players who a few weeks ago were really good club players . A club player like me could easily imagine it could be you (if you weren't so old, broken and generally were a bit shit).

@dingo Oh yeah I agree, but sadly professionalism (and the fact that pretty much all the money that fuels it in NZ comes from ABs) means things have changed.

I haven't read the comments so maybe this was mentioned, but Dagg needs to stop with the matey nicknames as a co-commentator. Worse than Stevenson used to be.

Agree with those that have said that Manasa Mata'ele looked slow and fat. He still played okay, but nowhere near as fit or muscular as he did playing for the Crusaders in 2019 pre-injury.

Canterbury played okay and did enough to win, but we look pretty ordinary with Brett Cameron wearing the 10 jersey. He's just such a limited player and his inability to ignite our attack is concerning. I thought we were far too lateral in attack, shifting from side to side like a metronome. We need to tighten our attack and get more go-forward, but this is hard with few noted ball runners in the pack

Brett Cameron will be an AB one day.

It was club round. They do it for a round every year and but thought most the provincial teams did something similar?
