Taranaki will be happy Jordie's two late missed kicks didn't come back to bite them. An entertaining game for a neutral.

Was it a 100 all draw? Is wanting them both to lose equally make me a neutral?

You nearly got your wish with the draw.

I am surprised that Taranaki didn't wear an alternative jersey in this game.

And now Vaai scores a try and he calls it Vaai, then when the crowd clears and you can clearly see Vaai, he says it's May 😂

Holy shit I did not realise that was Webber with the interesting hair. Has...has he got extensions? Not even my hair grows that fast.

BOP player binned and a penalty try to Taranaki. Bit of a harsh call I reckon as the BOP player appeared to be behind the try line when all this occurred.

Yeah they didn't call him offside the whole time he was there, he was bound to the maul and came in when Riccitelli was over the line.

There's a lesson in playing to the whistle - everyone stops for a knock on, Ormond runs on to score and eventually the TMO does call knock on even though it was far from clear cut

That wasn't a knock on. Evening it up for the Carrol incident?

Looked tough, made tougher by the fact that binned for 10 mins. Can see how that goes either way though. I’m hoping most of the subs tactical as some injuries to key players in the second half . Hopefully nothing serious.

Not sure if we are even close to finding all the right people in positions either, but not a bad start even though we lost. Not sure if enough to stay in the premiership based on crystal ball gazing based on other results either, but could change if everyone loses their ABs in a month.

Still enjoyed all the games I got to watch and really happy to see the ABs playing. Even if all didn’t excel, it seemed to have a positive impact on players around them.

Took the 2.00 on the Naki with a 2 point head start, feel a bit dirty backing the opposition but happy to take the money. Luckily I saw the rain in Invergiggle and cashed out the last leg of my all up bet thanks to Hawkes failing. Got the bets right at least!

Hopefully don’t take Southland to easy next week! Go the bay! 😀

Josh Lord looks like a great prospect. Only 18 and at 2.02 metres he's definitely one to keep an eye on.

@akan004 he was training with the Chiefs earlier this year if I'm not mistaken.

Yes, he also came off the bench in the preseason game against the Blues in Waihi.

I would have liked Waikato to keep Josh Lord but money talks. 2m+ locks aren't easy to find.

@Bovidae was he involved with Waikato? Thought he was always Taranaki.

    @Yeetyaah

I'm not sure where Lord is from originally but he went to Hamilton BHS. Vaa'i went to Wesley, and both ended up in Taranaki.

Also, I'm not sure his DOB on the Taranaki website is correct. His last year at school was in 2018 when Lord was in the NZS team, and I don't think he left a year early. More likely 19, so still a kid to be playing in the tight five at M10 Cup level.

You're right. Just checked wiki and it says he played for Taranaki last year, so I doubt he would have been 17 when he played for them. I like the look of him, plenty of aggression, a good work rate and has the frame to potentially play at the highest level. Suddenly we seem to have a few good locks coming through in Vaa'i, Darry, Lord etc. An area of concern is now looking exciting.
