Back line is decent, but that tight 5..... I don't know...
Glad they are staying with Procter at 15, I'm not a Renata fan at all, just seems too small to me.

    Also a good backrow.
One good enough lock and Blackwell. Blackwell was not too bad against Auckland but he can be shit at times

But a young front row so unsure how it will go. Thankfully Numia is back. The experienced old man at 22 edit (ops only 21 still. Born 29/11/98)

@Duluth wow, no Otere or Emoni and of course media silence as to why.. Trask at fullback?
Happy to see Cole Forbes in 23 though finally!

@bayimports Didn't Narawa injure his knee against Taranaki in round 1?

@Stargazer yep you're right, knee or shin, but no one has said anything since, so have no idea when we will see him back. (at the time it didn't look too bad, but obviously it is)

Is Carter injured as well, or Campbell just preferred?

They only had Renata at the back to counter DMac which obviously worked 😂 he’s played there before with no issues but he is getting on in years.

As for Blackwell he goes alright at this level it seems he just can’t make the step up.

Boy, you have to wonder what's happened to the Bay this year . Its pretty much the same team as last year but isn't playing near as well. The team looks to be less slick, less confident and lacking in ideas. The 2019 team was playing impressively right from preseason and didn't really falter right through. At this stage, you'd have to say, it appears to be almost a fight to survive being relegated.

However I'm prepared to cut them some slack as its still early days and injuries aren't helping but tonight they must perform !

@Snollygoster I agree Snolly, I know most teams haven't spent much time with each other, but Clayton even said he still had the nucleus of last years team still together and that should help. Clearly it hasnt! Players out of position every week and the fans have no idea about how serious any of the injuries are doesn't help either.

Still a couple of good names back this week, lets hope we can cause an upset.

I believe Savea has been ruled out as he didn't feature in the captain's run yesterday.

This should see Ruben Love come onto the bench who I'm really excited to see play as I understand there are huge wraps on this kid coming out of Palmerston Boys.

In what position has Love been playing in club rugby? He is a 1st 5/fullback.

@Bovidae I think he can play both, but the Lions have him listed as a Fullback.

A mate of mine pointed him out at a Firebirds match at the Basin earlier in the year and he goes out with Amelia Kerr the young gun Women's cricket player - maybe a future sporting power couple of NZ in the offing.

Apparently Love was equally good at cricket but had to make a choice, similar to Jordie Barrett.

Kaylum Boshier. Captained the NZ U19 cricket team and played for the U20s in rugby.

I was sitting next to Ruben's parents watching the Schools test last year. He started on the wing (Hammett selection) but ended up at 2nd 5 because of an injury.
