The rebuild of M4L and a new challenge

@taniwharugby i just can't find the motivation. U know i should, but I can't.
Like today, I'm finishing work at 2pm , I'll head home to hang with the kids. Wife is going out.
Its 30 degrees so I'll be swimming, drinking beers all avo, then will cook myself a steak and polish (not Polish) off a good red once the kids are down.
How is a man supposed to fast/diet/not drink under these cirumstances???

i actually just cried at my desk

@mariner4life yeah BMI would have me at 82kg, body scan said my ideal weight was about 91kg with my muscle mass, so my goal of 95kg seems realistic, but yea a redistribution would be ideal, since I started at the gym I'm seeing the changes to my shoulders/chest etc, but gut is holding strong!
I am largely still eating what I want between 12-8, having beers, whisky....once I hit 95 I am not sure I'll stick with the IF
-
Fuck IF today...4 beers with lunch. Playing touch tonight....ill be awesome

play loose!

@mariner4life always do!
But in my mind I expect I will be the fastest I have ever been and I'll put TR Jnr into every gap and he will be too slow to take it!

how to lose weight
count calories, take in less than 2,000 a day. Remove beer, sugar, and most carbs. Work out nearly every day
Get a stomach bug that gives you the shits for the better part of the week
job done! according to my established targets, i have already achieved the desired weight loss. 45 days? bullshit! did it in 9! 3kg down boy!!
so i now need to make some changes or i am going to fade away. more calories. more carbs. eat more around my workouts, especially the lifting days.

You sound like one of those fluffybunnies, who when they talk about losing weight, need a good kick in the nuts.
Well done though, that's a good effort! What's the plan now? For me, I can usually maintain by skipping breakfast, cutting beer, and working out 2 -3 times a week.
Or, are you going to try and make some big changes to the body?

I'll stick to the calorie counting (i'm eating pre-prepped meals which are surprisingly good, if fuuuuucking small) and add some carbs. Have an additional protein shake every day. And try and get up early enough to eat something before i work out (this will be an issue, 5.30 is hard enough, 5 is going to be a massive struggle).
And stick with the lack of booze and sugar right through.
That said, if the weather gods come to the party, i'm off to the races this weekend, and no way i will not have a few beers.
-
surprisingly it's not the beer that i miss the most. i miss cooking and eating the foods i fucking love, with all the rich ingredients i usually use. And obviously the portion sizes i am used to when i make it too.
-
Counting calories is certainly a decent way of losing weight. Ultimately if you stay under a certain level you have to lose weight. But some people take the piss with this. A mate of mine for example will sometimes only eat dinner so he can smash junk food. He never eats breakfast and always eats some form of shit every day. So he’ll lose weight but his health will still be farked.
-
@Rancid-Schnitzel yeah if you are going down that path then what is the point? i mean i could skip every meal and have 14 stubbies and still come in under.
right now i am absolutely fanging for the shitty afternoon snack i would have had. fanging i tell you.
but i am disciplined!!
and i only have enough calories left in my day for dinner.

That's the secret - stubbornness. I dropped an amazing amount of fat by not consuming carbs for an entire January. A work acquaintance just decided he'd only drink water until the fat melted off him. Another mate has dropped 16 kilos and plans to dump another 20 to get back into marathons. He'll do it no problem.
-
@antipodean definitely stubborn about it. but it's week 2. lets see how i am in another couple
-
@antipodean discipline trumps motivation every day of the week

little bit of vanity helps too
-
Discipline, motivation.....and also realising we’re all over 40 now so it will be tougher.
I also make sure there’s not a day that goes by where I don’t do something physical. Just today was a paperwork/tidy up day but I still did a bunch of knuckle push ups and plyometric jumps to kickstart the metabolism before lunch.

Said like it's a bad thing. I'm disappointed.
I have to admit that I do this - my diet is based on me making good decisions on weekdays during the hours of the day when the sun is out, which means I can have a few glasses of wine each night and do whatever the fuck I want on the weekends.
It's awesome to see that you are putting in the effort. I'm almost motivated. Almost.
