Terrible defence. How uninterested can you look as a defender? Didn't even try.

Huge win by the Reds: 41 - 7

Deserved margin too, refereeing not withstanding, they played much better than their opposition.

The Reds looked great in the first half. Second half was a bit more like them. Can't tell if they're looking like frontrunners or if the Tahs were just terrible.

Couldn't watch the second half, but someone (an Australian) on Twitter said that the Tahs would struggle in the Heartland comp in NZ. Were they that bad?

@stargazer They did well not to concede during the red card period but otherwise they were awful second half.

Their set piece went to pieces.

Looks like they've lost captain Gordon for a while. Bad ankle/knee injury by looks.

NSW got quite a bit of ball in the 2ND half, but their handling and passing were appalling.

Three weeks suspension for Perese. He won’t be available to play again until the return match with the Reds in round six (27 March).

In his finding, Foul Play Review Committee Chairman Adam Casselden SC ruled the following:

“In submissions to the hearing, Perese pleaded guilty to the citing under Law 9.18.

With respect to sanction, the Foul Play Review Committee were cognisant of the fact that recent amendments to Appendix 1 of Regulation 17 meant that World Rugby’s directive, that any incident of foul play which results in contact with the head and/or neck shall result in at least a mid-range section, did not apply to a contravention of Law 9.18.

The Foul Play Review Committee, having conducted a detailed review of all of the available evidence, including all camera angles and additional evidence, including submissions from his legal representative, Aaron Lloyd, determined that the act of foul play merited a low-end entry point of 6 weeks. This was primarily due to the reckless rather than intentional nature of the action which ultimately placed Perese’s opponent in a vulnerable position but which did not cause an injury to the opponent.

When taking into account mitigating factors including the Player’s clean judicial record and the fact the Player pleaded guilty at the first available opportunity, the Foul Play Review Committee reduced his suspension to 3 weeks.”

@stargazer They forgot to state his remorse and his apology to the player afterward. Makes cut and pasting the regular things into the decision just so much easier.

Hoping the return of someone like Swinton gives the pack a bit of steel. The tight five need to have a look at themselves.

@nta Swinton will definitely help. Harris at 6 was anonymous.

I wonder what's going to happen with captaincy with Gordon presumably out - Sinclair seemed to take over the captaincy but he was off the bench - does Sinclair start at 8?
